Appearance
Arestis is of above average height for a Night Elf. Her skin color is between pink and purple, and she has long purple hair that falls to the small of her back. Her face bears a red marking reminiscent of an owl between her silver eyes. Her build is slender, as is typical for a Night Elf.
Personality & History
Arestis was born to Iada and Tiera Darkblade 350 years prior to the fall of Archimonde at the Battle of Mount Hyjal. Born to a reclusive magic-practicing Night Elven village, she was quickly identified as an extremely gifted child (possibly a prodigy), and was well liked by most inhabitants of the village. However, beneath her warm facade lay her true nature - Arestis is a dangerous sociopath, utterly devoid of anything resembling a conscience. Arestis' pathology initially manifested in thievery and manipulative (often harmful) behaviour in her school years. At the age of 13, she finally escalated to violence when she murdered her closest friend Vandarn Highblade when he was granted an apprenticeship to a powerful mage that she had desired. Soon after, Arestis left the village in a fit of rage and revealed its' location to a nearby Night Elven town, which promptly descended on the village with brutality. Arestis watched without a hint of remorse as those she had grown up with were slaughtered or captured.
Arestis is cold and calculating. She has no conscience, and is perfectly willing to engage in acts such as murder and torture to achieve her desires. She is almost (but not entirely) incapable of fear, and is indifferent to pain. She does not seek companionship, and for the majority of her life her only 'friend' has been her sister, Tarsia Darkblade, who works alongside her not just in life but also in her darker deeds. While Tarsia cares a great deal for Arestis, it is debatable as to whether Arestis truly cares about Tarsia or rather sees her as a mere tool to serve her ends. Arestis possesses a brilliant mind, and has a gift for quickly determining a person's emotional weaknesses and exploiting them. Arestis views sex as a vice for lesser beings, although she is willing to engage in sexual acts when it furthers her own goals. Although extremely intelligent, Arestis' prideful nature causes her to at times make considerably foolish decisions, which often result in trouble for her and Tarsia. When Arestis first committed murder at the age of 13, she found that doing so gave her a feeling of tremendous power. For some time after that, she took great pleasure in her murders. However, over time this faded away and in the present time she is for the most part indifferent towards such acts.
