Northrend Yeti

Moved from Northrend yeti.

Quest:The Yeti Next Door calls them giant yeti, Quest:Making the Horn also calls them giant yeti, but thats 2 out of 4-5 quests that involve them. The other quests don't get specific. Giant yeti sounds like a valid description, but I don't think it really diserves another page. That can be discussed on the yeti page.Baggins (talk) 03:41, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

The Art of World of Warcraft

Two concept pieces of two different looking yeti can be found in the artbook. One looks to have the face of a troll or demon and the other has many teeth and lots of hair.Template:Cite

I removed this from the article as even though the page titles it as Yeti concepts, the notes beside it dictate they weren't even sure what it was... with Wendigo striked out, along with Ice troll and with a ? next to furbolg. List of Yeti/Wendigo Tribes

5 named ones... there ya go. As for the yeti of Hillsbrad (Cave and Ferocious Yeti) and Alterac (Mountain and Giant Yeti) they are unnamed groups and there's currently a discussion as to how to give them an article, please voice your opinion at Forum:Organization naming. Different race than wendigo and sasquatch?

Why do we have a seperate page for wendigo and yeti? They are noted in lore to be cousins, and share the same two in-game models in WoW. The sasquatch made its first appearance since Warcraft 3 with Cataclysm, also noted as a cousin of the wendigo. Surely these are subspecies that should be combined into one less confusing page. Cousins does not mean the same creature. All three were given their own RPG info, so each have their own page. And just because Bliz wants to make it simple and use but 1 model (2 since Wrath) doesn't mean they'll all the same and should have their articles merged. Sssssssssssssssssssssssss For Pony! In Warcraft III and the Warcraft RPG, Sasquatches live in temperate climates, while Wendigo live in Northrend. Very clear-cut. Yetis do not exist yet. In World of Warcraft and the World of Warcraft RPG (in Monster Guide), Wendigo live in Dun Morogh, and Yetis (adapted for much colder climates) live in Alterac Mountains, Feralas, Hillsbrad Foothills, and Winterspring. The Wrath of the Lich King Bestiary also says that Wendigo live in Northrend, as well as in Dun Morogh. Sasquatches do not appear. Now, in Cataclysm, we have Bigfist, bringing Sasquatches back. I have no idea what this means for the Feral Scar yetis, but a lot of them were brown from the start, and those that were not brown were grey... that is Sasquatch-ish. Aye, when it comes to the Wendigo, Yeti and Sasquatch, we'll have to rely on what they're called in quests and when in doubt go by the area in they live in. Cause it's funny... Wendigo are supposed in be in Northrend, they were even in the Bestiary for Wrath... but when you quest, they're all referred to as yeti ... so yea, it gets annoying. Note that there are lots of pages that combine very diverse subspecies of a race. Take Wolf for example. While the different terms are used interchangeably in WoW, they are separate but very similar things in the lore - Therefore, it makes sense to have some sort of disambiguation page at the least, or a combined page. The relationship between the things listed on the Wolf page and the Wendigo-Sasquatch-Yeti relationship may not be quite the same, but the three types of... whatever the greater type is here... can be linked to each other better if it helps.--SWM2448 06:32, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Yeti Tribes?

I've checked all quest i could see linked to these "tribes" and everytime they used the term "group", so unless anyone can provide me sources calling them tribes(outside of the RPG), I'm going to change it to groups like the quests say.

I'll think of it as a 'maybe'. As for if they group into tribes or not, if a contradictory citation can not be found from in the game (or here, or Wowhead), then I would default to what the RPG classifies them as, because the 'what do we call groups of mobs' debate often sucks and is stupid and is pointless.
