A collection of the main requests for future server and wiki upgrades, and known wiki bugs. This is so that we can organize our wishes and decide upon what upgrades are most required.
We request that before making additions, please first discuss them on the talk page.
New requests
Extensions and code
- CategoryTree
- DynamicPageList extension as seen on Wakfu Main Page [1]
- Inputbox
- Editcount
- SpamBlacklist and perhaps Username Blacklist
- StringFunctions, would allow for easier categorization of API and other pages with pseudo-namespaces
- User block changes - when we block users, the user is banned from editing anything, whereas on other wikis they can still edit talk pages. May need two levels of bans here, as some bans are for (repeat) talk page vandalism.
- Youtube/google video embed player of some sort. We have dhflashplayer, but it doesn't work very well and cannot be put in a template. It would be nice to have something simple to embed boss fight videos, there's a bunch in the wiki. Perhaps VideoFlash?
- Interwiki link to http://www.mediawiki.org/
- Query API or MediaWiki API, to help reduce the impact of bot requests on the wiki
- Add the following to LocalSettings.php, for Recent changes IRC broadcast:
$wgRC2UDPAddress = 'dotted.mine.nu'; $wgRC2UDPPort = 9390; $wgRC2UDPPrefix = ;
Presentation admins can't change
- Merge in override changes from MediaWiki:Wowwiki.css to the wowwiki skin's main.css.
- Change/add site meta description, i.e. not "Offers information and walk-throughs on classes, professions, quests, add-ons, and macros." as shown on Google
- Better Google/Wikia ad presentation - should match sidebar in border, colours (sidebar needs changes anyway)
- Wikia spotlight has "google ads" heading
Possible/probable bugs
- MediaWiki:Sitenotice shows no [dismiss] link.
- [edit] links sometimes being pushed down by images and right-floats on FF2. Cause unknown.
- Built-in search box (OpenSearch) stuff for IE7 and FF is broken - seems to be missing a file.
- Non-admin members of the patrollers not able to mark own edits as patrolled (via option in preferences - used to exist). Possible bug.
- From the 1.9 change notes:
- "autopatrol" replaces the preference for marking ones own edits patrolled by default; users holding this permission will automatically have their edits patrolled, while others cannot mark their own edits as patrolled even if they have patrolling rights.
- From the 1.9 change notes:
- Redirects to other wikia sites appear as broken redirects.
- Since the upgrade to MW 1.10.1, the edit toolbar (above the editbox) has disappeared. This seems to be related to an error in the JavaScript (wikibits.js), at or around function addButton. --Pcj (T•C) 17:58, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Project: pages do not forward to WoWWiki: - e.g. in the footer, Project:About
- Imagelink is showing some odd errors - example on [2] - see the long blue links.

- Provide wiki access to CSS
- This can be changed by editing MediaWiki:Common.css and MediaWiki:Monobook.css
- This has been 'broken' for a very long time - I still don't think it works. See MediaWiki:Common.css, MediaWiki:Wowwiki.css and User:Kirkburn/Dev3. User:Kirkburn/Sig3 02:39, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- Possibly add ability for users to create their own styles too? --Pcj (T•C) 02:55, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- Fixed (you were right, Kirkburn, no way it could've worked before, will work now) and added user styles. Have fun. TOR 08:24, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- Note that the skin is "wowwiki", so it's that rather than monobook that you need in the links above.-- sannse (talk) 08:30, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- Wikia interwiki links - Wikia, Starcraft.wikia, Blizzard.wikia, Diablo.wikia links needed.

Delayed
The following requests will not be completed at this time due to the strain it would cause to the server. We will, however, make these features available as soon as we have another machine to help with that.
- SVG image upload
- Implementation of

- Newuserlog
