The Wastewander, or Wastewander Bandits, are a band of outlaw nomads who wander Noonshade Ruins and Waterspring Field in Tanaris. They have taken control of many of the water sources in the desert, and are thus despised by the Gadgetzan Waterworks Company. Their leader is Caliph Scorpidsting.

In Cataclysm Edit

Cataclysm-Logo-Small This section concerns content exclusive to Cataclysm.
The leadership of this group appears to have been decimated by the time of the cataclysm, but a few still harass travelers in Tanaris. Several members of the organization have also been spotted in the recently uncovered region of Uldum.

Wastewander NPCs Edit

Varieties of Wastewander NPCs are (most in Tanaris):

Removed with Cataclysm Edit

Icon-stub-22x22 The subject of this section has been removed from World of Warcraft.

All Wastewander NPCs had a chance of dropping a Wastewander Water Pouch. These could be turned in to Spigot Operator Luglunket in stacks of 5 for Gadgetzan reputation and a Gadgetzan Water Co. Care Package, which could contain food, water, and/or potions. Wastewander NPCs also occasionally dropped leatherworking patterns for the Tough Scorpid collection armor pieces.

Gadgetzan Water Company Edit

The Wastewander nomads are enemies of the Gadgetzan Water Company for three reasons:

  • Murdering Gadgetzan Water Co. employees
  • Stealing Gadgetzan Water Co. resources
  • Seizing Gadgetzan Water Co. property

Reputation Edit

Icon-time This section concerns content that is out-of-date.
Killing Scorpidsting gives 15 reputation with Gadgetzan if doing so granted experience, until Honored, but he was made a rare mob with Cataclysm-Logo-Small Cataclysm, so is less of a good source of reputation. Scorpidsting grants 8 reputation for the other goblin city factions (Booty Bay, Ratchet, and Everlook).

Gained Rep from normal Wastewander NPCs.
