Template:Hellfire Citadel Template:Stub/BC Template:Bc An armored Fel Orc, he is called Vazruden the Herald when flying around the tower of Hellfire Ramparts wing of the Hellfire Citadel instance in Hellfire Peninsula on his Nether Drake, Nazan.

General Info

Tactics

Nazan Main Points:

  • Attacks from the sky with AoE fireballs
  • Lands when Vazruden is Low HP/Dead
  • To be faced Away from the rest of the group
  • Is best fought in the large area
  • Will Create AoE Fire rings.

Along with Vazruden these 2 make up one of the 2 last bosses of Hellfire Ramparts, and attack together, sortof. You'll also want any Fire Resist gear for phase 2.

The fight begins with the 2 Guards deaths at the bottom of the ramp (Not the Patrolling ones), so be fully prepared before engaging them. After they Die, Nazan Will drop off Vazruden in the centre of the circular area, and then re-take to the skies.

Tank/Spank Vazruden, and get him out of the way fast, whilst keeping an eye out for Nazan firing AoE fireballs from above.

When Vazruden Dies/Gets low HP, Nazan will land and (usually) head straight for your healer, as he's the only one thats accumalating agro on him, so keep them at the back of the group, and taunt Nazan fast. It's also a good idea to pop PW:S if you're a priest at this point, just incase.

Face Nazan away from the rest of the group, away from his AoE Fire breath, and try not to steal agro. Fire AoE rings will also appear on the ground where he breaths, so stay out of them, and tank him out of them. It's best to fight this bit in the big ring so you can see what is going on.

Currently, should you manage to kill Vazruden, but die to Nazan, Vazruded may be looted, and then re-killed and re-looted. This will probably get fixed however.

Quests

Vazruden drops an "Ominous Letter" quest-starter which leads to killing bosses in the Blood Furnace.

Hellreaver10

An orc warrior wielding Hellreaver.

Hellreaver is a polearm that drops from Vazruden in the Hellfire Ramparts wing of Hellfire Citadel on normal difficulty. He used the weapon itself during the fight.

Notes

After killing Vazruden and his dragon Nazan, a chest will appear in the back of the rampart which should contain the Hellreaver polearm (Roughly a 16% chance the chest will contain it).

Regardless of its appearance, it is a polearm, not a two-handed sword.

Great weapon for...

  • Retribution paladins. The strength and stamina bonuses are decent, and the crit rating makes it all the more incredible. At level 60 (just as you are getting the hang of Outland), this weapon is relatively easy to obtain.
  • Arms (more specifically polearm specialist) warriors. Once again, the attribute bonuses are perfect for a warrior, and the crit chance means that with the right specialization, your crit chance will be phenomenal for a level 60.
  • Frost death knights. Frost is a spec based on crit rating, so this weapon is perfect. Also, the attributes are good for any melee class. This is also nice for other specs, but best for frost.
  • Feral Druids. Although druids benefit more from Agility then Strength, (Agility gives 1 AP and crit per point, while Strength gives 2 AP per point), the high stamina, Feral attack power, and critical strike rating make this a valid weapon for a druid starting in Outland.
