{{icon}} usage

The only noticeable usage of the template should be on "spell" pages. Note that the items boilerplate does not have t:icon used. --Sky (talk | con | wh) 19:41, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Skyfire, I do not know of any other method to display the number of stack into an icon other than the use of {{icon}}. I'd be happy to learn of any other method to do this. Sanderdolphin 12:34, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Inside the {{tooltip}}, |stack=x will work --Sky (talk | con | wh) 19:34, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

One other thing I noticed today: please don't add category:items to most item pages. They should have 4 categories: source/location, type of armor (cloth, etc), slot of armor, and rarity. There are a few other cases, but for the majority of items, that's how it should be. :) --Sky (talk | con | wh) 19:34, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

I've been putting One-Hand and Two-Hand onto Items, as that's what comes up when I search for Category One Hand. I've not been able to find anything more appropriate. Any suggestions? Sanderdolphin 19:42, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
Ah. That's an issue with the categorizing system atm. Go with the above for now, or make new categories! :) Category:One handed weapons, Category:Two handed weapons, Category:Main handed weapons (and I think off handed, also). I'm not sure if there are others... >.> --Sky (talk | con | wh) 19:45, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
What would be really cool (like, super awesome) for you to do would be to change categories like "Category:Swords" to "Category:One handed swords", which would be placed in "Category:Swords" and "Category:One handed weapons", which would be placed in "Category:Weapons", which would be placed in "Category:Items". Does that make sense? :) --Sky (talk | con | wh) 19:51, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Quest:Taming the Beast

I understand that the format I changed these quests to originally may not be the best, but can I ask you what the reasoning is on the use of (horde) (#) instead of what I thought was the more descriptive version? I haven't been keeping up with changes in policy, and this is an interesting case that's not easily handled by bots.

ShardeeDetheroc, I'm afraid I have no idea why Laurybot named them (horde) (#) instead of a more descriptive version other than it being just an automated bot. I've not changed any names of the pages in this instance because, although it's not the best, it wasn't something fundamentally wrong and therefore didn't warrent the time needed to change. I've kept the link as they were and added to the Disambiguations page as a linked incase someone else felt the desire to update the names of the pages onto the series list. Sanderdolphin 12:31, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Ah, I realise there's two pages of each quest! Ok, I've merged the info into one, keeping the (Blood Elf) page, and redirecting the Horde (#) pages.
Thanks for updating. I definitely have been out a while since I forgot to sign my post...sorry about that. Also, the Dwarf quest line wasn't labeled for gnomes and dwarves because gnomes can't be hunters. The same applies to Human and Forsaken. None of those races can become hunters so they don't have a quest line for their race. ShardeeDetheroc 18:49, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Please do not make pages that are just a stub. You can put {{:User:Laurlybot/Donpc}} on the page to create a page on a NPC/MOB in WoW. Please note that it takes time to work, and will erase pages with stuff already on them (So use only on blank or very short pages). Do not become bot-crazy, but this is useful. Thanks.--User:Sandwichman2448/Sig 23:57, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Ah, thanks for that. I didn't have the info to be able to make the page complete, so that would help a lot. Thanks. Sanderdolphin 00:01, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Incomplete tooltips

Please stop making incomplete item tooltips. Tooltips should closely match those on Wowhead, instead of just the name and icon. If you're going to update the tooltip of an item in the foxbot queue, please match the standard tooltip using the Item Boilerplate, and remove the foxbot tag. --Tiwuno 22:22, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Each one has a tag asking foxbot to update the tooltip (and remainder of page). Without this, any page using something like {{lootbox}} will not work, and will give a major problem on the page result.   Sanderdolphin 22:25, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
I know, I'm saying it would be much more helpful if you didn't leave the tooltip incomplete though. =) Not trying to be rude, just a suggestion. --Tiwuno 22:43, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

World Objects and Foxbot

Foxbot doesn't handle world objects (such as chests - Felsteel Chest etc); tagging those pages for Foxbot update will do nothing other than have it whine at me :). -- Starlightblunder 23:12, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Aw, sorry about that. I'll put a redirect into Chests for the time being, until something better comes along. I know I did about half a dozen different type of static Chests.

On second thoughts, maybe not. "This item article has been marked for automated update by an anonymous coward." is the final straw. Volunteers are unpaid, and should not be subjected to abuse and derogidation. I'll leave you mark them all for speedy deletion, and leave a big gap when they are being referred to.   Sanderdolphin 10:38, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
I wouldn't take anonymous coward too seriously. The intention there is to point people in the direction of the |user= parameter to specify who they are so Foxbot can whine at them if requested edits fail; seeing as to how most of the tags you added were before the introduction of the said parameter, it shouldn't even be taken as whining at you. -- Starlightblunder 22:57, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
If you just put {{User:Foxbot/Update}}, without the date, you don't need to worry about adding user= at all. But thats bad, um, you didn't hear me suggest it. User:Coobra/Sig2 23:27, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Check Wowhead for achievement icons. Double click on the image next to the name to get the icon. User:Gourra/Sig2 19:01, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Using Foxbot taggin

When tagging an item article for Foxbot you should have <onlyinclude></onlyinclude>, to avoid making articles that transcludes tooltip through {{item}} to transclude the whole article. User:Gourra/Sig2 09:43, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

Mob articles

Please to be adding stubs → {{Stub/Mob}} ← to them, if you are not going to make the pages fully. This includes lack of infobox, categories and sections. Thank you, User:Coobra/Sig4 21:51, October 12, 2009 (UTC)
