Join us, fellow editor

I can see that you are near as experienced with wiki code as I am - I want to recruit you to the Community Project A.K.A. WWCP ASAP - if you could get all those acronyms. I would particularly like to have you commandeer the Category and Stub Organization subsect, as I have little time for that with all my mad importing right now, but it is nearly as important as the community pages. I will explain more should you accept (-: And I got to use a first level heading, just cause I am special!

[[User:SilverSide| Silver\Side]] 22:13, 1 Dec 2005 (EST)

P.S. I am especially interesting in your lore knowledge... talk to me at the WWCP homepage ^^)

Thanks for accepting! Might wanna check here now: reply

Welcome to the team!

You have been accepted into the NP Patrol, the WoWWiki:Association of Members' Advocates, and the Commentators! Welcome, and thank you for helping out the community (-:

On a side note, I noticed you said not to mark you as leader of the AMA; I had intended to remain leader of that until we had at least 3-5 members, then vote on a new one - but I need leaders for the others. It doesn't really entail much work, other than reviewing new candidates and keeping the team page updated... would you like to head up the commentators or the NP patrol? -  ℑilver§ℑide 22:51, 8 Dec 2005 (EST)

Ah good! All you need to do is maintain the team page with a list of what the team does and how to join, and a list of members; and watch the /Join page for comments from people wanting to join (-:

A Start

I created a Bookkeepers team and put you in as head, since you like lore so much. You mind? Also, I don't know if you want to head up two teams - that's a lot of work... if you don't want to head one up, just leave a note on my talk page as to which one you wanna give leadership up on. Also, you have a member who wants to join (Xmuskrat) - its up to you whether or not to accept him, see the /Join page. --  ℑilver§ℑide 17:59, 9 Dec 2005 (EST)

Good Potentials for Bookkeepers?

I noticed Aeleas and Baggin seem to be alot into lore issues, maybe you should invite them to your team? I'll put a note on their user pages to look into applying. --Fandyllic 3:09 PM PDT 14 Apr 2006

New member request (misdirected)

You have a member requesting membership at WoWWiki:Cat Team/Join - just wanted to make sure you knew. If you do accept him, you should...

  1. ... leave a message on his talk page
  2. ... add him to the member list on Community teams under your team using the same template your name (and mine) are under
  3. ... reply on the /Join page to let him know if he checks there too

I will only post this notification once, as I expect you will check the /Join page regularly... it is all up to you! --  ℑilver§ℑide 22:17, 9 Dec 2005 (EST)

Err... I don't head the Cat team, Anticrash does.
Sorry, just copy-pasted ROFL my bad... anyway, you got the idea I see; now I'll leave you alone to govern (-: --  ℑilver§ℑide 16:27, 11 Dec 2005 (EST)

I set up a quick tutorial / instruction set for my character table at User:SilverSide/Table - feel free you use it if you like it! It also categorizes you into player categories (like Category:Players/Server/Side i.e. Category:Players/Blackrock/Horde and Category:Players/Class i.e. Category:Players/Priest by your characters (-: --  ℑilver§ℑide 17:26, 12 Dec 2005 (EST)

As a team member, I would like you to register at the forums: WoWWiki:Forums. Makes life easier on us all; as a 'forum' structure is much easier to pass information and assignments on to team members than a 'wiki' structure. I will promote you as soon as I notice you registered so that you can moderate your team forum. (-: --  ℑilver§ℑide 22:26, 11 Dec 2005 (EST)

Site's not accepting new user registration- I'll tray again l8r- Ragestorm

My bad you all are too fast for me (-:
I'll have it up in a day or two rofl --  ℑilver§ℑide 16:35, 12 Dec 2005 (EST)

Extended... hiatus

Quote (Schmidt, earlier, somewhere else, new):

In the interests of keeping things orderly, even at the expense of efficiency, it would be nice to have things voted on. This way we don't have to wonder if something that is found on the policy page really was arrived at with concensus. The reasoning behind me even starting the policy page (I'm very surprised no one had developed one beforehand) is that I wanted everyone to agree on it. It was poorly worded, and I had hoped that someone would be able to rewrite it by now. I hope that we can write things a little more formally (not esoterically) and vote on things as written, and if someone disagrees we can reword it before it gets to the regular policy page so that we don't have to rewrite anymore. Is this understandable? (I'm pretty tired.)

Yah... me too. But I am particularly tired of fighting against people... I can see that, although the users here are mostly young and progressive, they still seem to act somewhat like a group of museum curators... assuming that any attempt at change from outside is vandalism and not perhaps a symbol that something is wrong. I can only fight the good fight against my own side for so long... soon such a cross between the 'cold' and the 'civil' wars becomes to much for a busy man like me to handle. I am, from this posting forward, on an extended wikibreak, until such time as I mature and see that I really fucked up, and that obviously everything is my fault (as everybody else already does - doesn't that mean they must be right? but I saw it on TV mama...). Anyway, I am putting you in charge of the Community Teams project, I hope you can organize the community here into something more productive and organized than the bureaucratic nonsensical... mass it is at this time - I have been rather unsuccessful in that respect. Knowing you as well as I do (as in, not at all) I would assume you would leave some note along the lines of "slow down and be careful, and people will be easier to work with" - I can not slow down. I work at my own pace, that is precisely why I am taking a break. I wish you the best of luck with this project; and I am sure it will continue on unimpeded by the lack of organization and properly designed policy... the fact that all the information contained herein is becoming more and more fragmented and badly formated every day as more and more people post more and more info in more and more formats matters not, as the 'community will vote' upon proper policy and decide what is best... soon ,you will be beyond the point of even an army of feverish editors like me from making every article conform to whatever delayed standards you decide upon. In friendly warning,  ℑilver§ℑide

PS1: Please do not broadcast this or anything similar around... I do not wish to spawn any more drama than is necessary. This message is for those I post it to; thanks for understanding as a personal friend. If you wish to leave me a note on my talk page, make sure to send me an e-mail in tandem so I know to visit back and reply! Finally, if you (the leaders I have asked to head up the various community teams) wish to use the forums, they are still there - unlike the wiki itself, I will be checking them and changing them as per the requests of the members there. Have a nice day friends...

Added a new icon idea to WoWWiki:Proposed Icon! Make sure to check it out and vote (-: --  ℑilver§ℑide 19:39, 22 Dec 2005 (EST)

Guess the hiatus didn't stick, eh? :-) -- Rage

Diggory joining the bookkeepers?

hi there, you left a talk on my page asking what my particular sphere of knowledge could be in the lore of warcraft? After having a look at what your current members already know, i think i could be of some use to you as a bookkeeper of the history of the various demi-gods throughout warcraft history, including the dragon aspects. I know a lot of this through reading the War of the Ancients trilogy (and Day of the Dragon) amonst other resources. I also think i may be of some help with the history of the Orcish race and the taurens (although i may have to go back and remind myself of the names of people in importan events! :P ). I havn't been on here long so i havn't made many changes to pages, however as an example of what i have added look at the Origin of the Races page, the part explaining harpies. I leave the choice as to what you want me for in your hands, i shall keep checking my own talk page for developments :)

See ya, Diggory Talk

Thanks for letting me join ^-^ i shall do my best. And diggory isnt from the HP character, its actually part of my real name :P - Diggory(T)

Forums note

Mate, I am trying to bring the forums to life by getting a few of my closer wowwiki friends to register and post. I don't care what you post, so long as you just post some stuff reguarly and get a few conversations going to incite other members to register and join in. I already got schmidt in, along with hammersmith - could you register a.s.a.p.? Thankshoe mucho hehe! --  ℑilver§ℑide 20:46, 2 Jan 2006 (EST)

On the Azgalore page I agree with you Ragestorm on both points. On Warcraft III his name was spelled Azgalor. He died with Rage Winterchill and Archimonde on the assault of the World Tree.

About Lore Characters I added another sentence to the description of lore characters to clairify what was meant by "not necessarily" clause. I must have misread the statement to mean "They are necessarily not from in-game." I apologize for the trouble someone on the team went to to fix the changes.

Bookkeeper Member Requests

I noticed there are a few users who have requested membership in the bookkeepers... are there any special criteria that you are requiring, or is it okay to add them to the team? I wanted to ask you first in case you have a plan for this, but I was going to add them. Just let me know here.. --Anticrash 15:03, 18 Jan 2006 (EST)

I'm still interested in joining, though I still don't have any specific area that you can put me in. I've noticed you've added a few people with a 'tentative standard' title, though... If you can list me as that until I come up with something (or something falls into place), I'd appreciate it. XD I'm likely to request high elves as one area, though. --Kakwakas 05:28, 22 Jan 2006 (EST)

My specialty?

I wasn't actually thinking so much of Illidan himself as his followers and his role in the events of the Third War.

My specialty is the events of the Third War, from the Horde's exodus to Kalimdor to Arthas' ascention as Lich King. Right now however I am mainly focused on the Blood Elves, because of the coming expansion, and the many inconsistencies they introduce. Tell Illidan rocks to contact me on AIM at rpgsuperfan or you can contact me yourself to discuss this.

EDIT: I noticed you just recently added lore to the main page and put in a Retcon section. This is EXACTLY what I was thinking of doing. Retcons. May I make that my specialty along with the Third War?

--Dreyfuss of Durotan 13:52, 26 Jan 2006 (EST)

I was thinking of specialties...definitely Trolls, Shamanism, the Old Gods, the Elemental Plane, and what limited knowledge there is to be known of the Twisting Nether. I was thinking that my title could be "Bookkeeper of the Void" or something like that.

Also, I'd prefer to be known as "Bevans" on the site. I'm trying to phase out "FeldmanSkitzoid". In a couple months I'll remove it from my post name completely.

--Bevans (FeldmanSkitzoid) 15:43, 25 Jan 2006 (EST)

For my specialty, I was thinking maybe high elves, tauren, and half-races (half-elves, half-orcs, Mok'nathol, etc.). I'm not entirely sure for a name, but seeing as high elves have access to frost and flame magic through the arcane and tauren through shamanism, maybe Bookkeeper Frostflame? Also happens to be the last name I tack on to characters I name Kakwaks or Kak'Wakas. =p --Kakwakas 22:44, 25 Jan 2006 (EST)
