Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker, is the legendary sword once wielded by Thunderaan, Prince of Air.

Template:Llegendary is the reward from the quest Rise, Thunderfury!. It is the culmination of a challenging and very expensive quest chain.

The quest can be started by a hunter, paladin, rogue or warrior. Although these classes can wield Thunderfury, it is generally accepted that the classes that receive the most benefit are warriors and rogues.
The quest chain begins when you loot the Left or the Right half of the Template:Llegendary, which drop off Baron Geddon and Garr respectively, in Molten Core. Upon looting either of these, you must travel to Silithus and talk with Highlord Demitrian. He will give you the [Vessel of Rebirth] which starts the quest chain.
The next quest requires you to present the following items to Demitrian:
- both Left and Right Template:Llegendary
- Template:Llegendary - a 100% drop, assuming one has the quest, from Ragnaros, final boss of Molten Core
- 10 Template:Llegendarys - each bar requires 1 Template:Lepic (from Blackwing Lair), 1 Template:Lrare, 10 Template:Luncommon, and 3 Template:Lcommon.
Bring a raid with you when you return with the required items to Demitrian because he will summon Thunderaan, who promptly attacks you. Upon defeating Thunderaan you receive a [Dormant Wind Kissed Blade]. Deliver this to (the now rather cowed) Highlord, and he will make Thunderfury for you.
The proc effect has been observed to be approximately 20-25%. As a main hand weapon, its speed of 1.9 makes it an excellent tanking weapon for warriors as well as paladins, and delights combat-specced sword rogues with its DPS potential. However, with Thunderfury now classified as a one-hand sword (as of patch 1.12), many rogues and fury warriors are making full use of it as an off-hand weapon.

13th January 2007. According to the new Brady Games guide book "The Burning Crusade", Thunderfurry, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker is a 61.9 DPS one-handed sword (Physical 82-153, Nature +16-30). None of the other procs such as the nature attack or resists are buffed. Unsure of this is a confirmation of the weapon being buffed, its the first time I found it written down in a official form. It is odd that Blizzard would no upgrade such a hard to obtain weapon, its like the Grand Marshall/High Warlord armour was before it could be easily obtained. Will keep you posted.
Notes
As of patch 1.12, Thunderfury may be equipped in either hand.
