Talk[]

Huh? Since when could we actually strike a conversation with this guy? In the past all horde characters could do with him was left-click him and get uniqe quotes. Hordesupporter 00:04, 11 March 2007 (EST)

In case you don't get what I mean, now we can right-click on him to talk to him, he says something like "Another soldier to fight for a cause? The spirits smile upon us today." I also note that he gives a quest now, my lv 29 Blood Elf can see a silver exclemation mark above him. Hordesupporter 21:05, 21 March 2007 (EDT)
Apparently this guy is pickpocketable... I stealthed my way in, distracted him and stole 4s and 32c from his own pocket. A level ??? too!! Thrall was a different matter... --GeekOfDeath 00:59, 31 March 2007 (EDT)

Maybe he's just smart enough to keep most of his money in the bank. Lckyluke372 01:42, October 15, 2007

Brewfest[]

I went ahead and added his speech from Brewfest to the quotes list. Lckyluke372 18:19, Ocober 12 2007

Lol that phrase Ziggy Zoggy Ziggy Zoggy oy oy oy came from the comedy central,"The Man Show". With Adam Carola and Jimmy Kimmel --Extremedeath

Appearance[]

Its official, for the third year running, Vol'jin has taken crown as worst dressed person in Azeroth. It's a bit insulting to Troll fans that our racial leader looks like he was tailored by the lovechild of Boy George and Tarzan, god, could we at least give him a decent black armor set like the rest of the Horde racial leaders? He is a character crying out for a new skin, really, every faction leader looks cool except for him. Lckyluke372

You might want to take your protest to Blizzard on their official forums. Vol'jin does seem to be a neglected character overall in World of Warcraft. --Fandyllic (talk · contr) 11:26 AM PDT 5 Oct 2007

To be honest i kind of like the way he is dressed,i garee he would look great in an armor set (like Thralls for example) but oh well Blizz has some work on their heads to try to please as many as possible so it's understandable........maybe the expansion will make him more of a fashion boss?BTW beware what you wish for,,,,if they change his outfit they may change it in a bad way(Marakanis 18:41, 5 October 2007 (UTC))

Personality[]

His personality section seems very biased to me. I realize there's little information on him, but the section needs to tone down the hero worship.--Austin P (talk) 01:21, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Its hard to worship a character with little to no personality, I just so happen to be the only one willing to come near this page, and I'm an English major; I have an instinct to embellish things. Fixed it though. Lckyluke372 (talk) 17:27, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Naz'grel used to offer that same quest and gave the exact same answer.[]

The quest is called the admiral orders and Vol'jin says the exact same lines as Naz'grel. Zarnks (talk) 03:41, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Title[]

Why he doens't have the title "Leader of the Darkspear Tribe" under his name? even the gnome king has "King of the Gnomes" and also, why Vol'jin's faction is Orgrimmar and not Darkspears? Pudim17 (talk) 10:05, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

<shrugs> Who knows? You're better of asking on the general forums. g0urra[T҂C] 10:14, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Cataclysm[]

So, does anyone have any info on what happens to Vol'jin in the next expansion? Trolls and other non-orcs/tauren get thrown out of Orgrimmar, so where does he go?Gorvar (talk) 18:26, October 4, 2009 (UTC)

No one said all non-orcs/taurens are thrown out of the city.... they just won't be in the central part of the city. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 18:38, October 4, 2009 (UTC)
Also, since Trolls are officially retaking the island off the coast of Durotar (bah can't recall the name right now...Shatterspear or something?) I'd say it's safe to assume that's where he'll beKantoisamo (talk) 23:35, April 20, 2010 (UTC)
It actually says it in the WoW magazine article on Cataclysm. Check the preview at http://cde.cerosmedia.com/1K4ba774d664cbb012.cde/page/19
Anyway, as Kantoisamo said, it's probably safe to assume he'll be moving to the Echo Isles. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 23:37, April 20, 2010 (UTC)

In The Rise of the Zandalari paragraph you have that first he traveled to Quel´Thalas, then to Stranglethorn (and BB) and then again to Quel´Thalas. Wasn´t the order: Strandlethorn then Quel´Thalas ?--Mordecay (talk) 18:38, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Vol'jin's son[]

In the pages (in the infoboxes) of Vol'jin and Yenniku it is said that they're father and son, as Yenniku was referred as "the chief's son" in the quest serie Fate of Yenniku. In the last quest text on wowhead it is reported a sentence that in H [10-30] Saving Yenniku we don't have, that is "...but for now, I at least know that my son's soul is free.", and it is said by Nimboya; this would make Yenniku son of Nimboya, and not of Vol'jin. Could someone check in-game what of the two is correct? Thanks, -- Forco sussura agli abissi 10:05, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

I believe Vol'jin and Yenniku were cousins but I cannot get back on a source
IconSmall Hamuul Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 10:09, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Mmm... it should be corrected anyway. This evening, if I can, I'll check in-game for the quest. If the information of them being cousins remains without source, it should be removed or only marked with a "citation needed"? -- Forco sussura agli abissi 11:19, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
I've just checked in-game for the quest, and the wowhead text is correct (it seemes that Blizzard changed it, probably to avoid confusion with Vol'jin). So I corrected Yenniku and Nimboya's pages and removed Yenniku's name from Vol'jin's relatives, and also updated the quest page. -- Forco sussura agli abissi 21:09, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Vol'jin warchief[]

I have read the whole entire post and notice that a new quote from Vol'jin says, "I speak for da horde." and a title that is known to be Warchief. As I know, I have not seen an official post(s) from blizzard that does not have any information about the new warchief. If a reference can't be provided to anything that is from a blizzard employee like on twitter, or the main website or whatever then I'd suggest removing them. (Unless I'm wrong, I tripled check with a friend ;P) — SurafbrovWowpedia administrator T / C 02:18, 12 September 2013 (UTC)

Seen in the end cutscene of SoO, so far Alliance side. The Horde liekly has a similar ending. Also... Called it! SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 02:24, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
Should make a reference for this. Thanks for pointing that out, Coobra. :) — SurafbrovWowpedia administrator T / C 02:43, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
Both cutscenes show the same event from different perspectives. Thrall personally chose Vol'jin, so it's official. We just need to wait for in-game references in later patches/expansion. User:Matix/sign 03:47, 12 September 2013 (UTC)

Monk[]

It's been a while since I read the book but I don't think learning a few techniques makes him a monk. Or was it stated that thanks to the training he is monk?--Mordecay (talk) 09:27, 23 August 2015 (UTC)

I haven't read the book, so I dunno. -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 09:31, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
He is definitely not a monk. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 23:18, 23 August 2015 (UTC)

Vol'jin in Oribos?[]

It was brought to my attention that Vol'jin has a model location for Oribos. https://www.wowhead.com/npc=166260/spirit-of-voljin

Now when I did Chapter 8 of the Ui sigil nightfae [Night Fae Campaign], after he left Nazmir and I didn't encounter him again until I arrived into the Maw. However I also didn't look for Vol'jin when entering Oribos and now I wonder if there was an option to talk to him during the quests, like how you could talk to the Horde leaders after Saurfang's funeral. Or if it was originally planned on meeting Vol'jin in Oribos and then traveling to the Maw together, and Blizzard decided to just cut that step.

So my fellow Night Fae, did any of you see Vol'jin present within Oribos?--X59 (talk)
