Talk: Travel Form

Well, from what I remember, Tauren druids were originally not going to have a form, but just like a faster mode. Maybe they created the hoof for the druid non-form and got lazy and left it that way. Also, it would be hard to make a cheetah paw look different from the cat form paw without some increased confusion. --

Oh... so maybe the original idea was to make stags the travel form =P ... would make sense since stags populate most NE areas.
