In the words of Blizzard:
- The attack speed slowing effect from Thunderfury has been reduced to 20%, and no longer stacks with other such effects such as Thunderclap. The rate at which the weapon procs has also been lowered.
Dual thunderfurys

Should have made it clearer... Two warriors, both of whom were equipped with Thunderfury swords. Both weapons were proc'ing on the other participant in the fight. I'll look it up tonight when I get home and link it. Activorus 07:57, 27 March 2006 (EST)

Thunderfury
Got this on US-Draenor on May 4, 2006.
Summary: Best tanking weapon in the game.
Tested on Ony and in scholo shortly afterwards. Huge improvement over the Quel Serar I was using before. Proc rate is crazy... nearly every mob you come in contact with gets proc'd and several times is not uncommon. The proc is great for agro. I found myself not even having to switch to defensive stance to out agro mages equipped with full epics in some instances(early proc). I also found this proc in a sense gives the tank a free improved challenging shout when it comes to holding agro on several mobs.

proc rate
I used procwatch to monitor TF proc rate - 30000 hits monitoring unenchanted Thunderfury yielded a proc rate of exactly once every 7 swings, with TF mainhand and iblis offhand, which translates to right around 14% proc rate. -Addikted, Blackrock horde
proc taken into account on dps total?

Removed that from the main page since it belongs here. The DPS total for the current version of TF (53.9 DPS), if you include the proc, assuming the 14% proc rate given above is correct, is 76 DPS. My money is on the speculation being simply a case of the guide making a mistake or reporting data that was later changed before going live (not uncommon for online games). As an aside, note that the proc does not generate rage, and does generate substantial additional aggro. This means that the 71 DPS weapons dropping in level 70 instances are most likely superior to TF for purely damage dealing purposes. Conversely, for tanking purposes, especially multi-target tanking purposes, those weapons don't even come close to TF. It is an interesting discussion whether any weapon currently in the game is an upgrade to TF for threat generation purposes.

Spam?
How does the fact that this sword may occasionally be spammed in trade chat possibly contribute to this article? Any item can be spammed in trade chat, despite not having a long name. I find this redundant and actually compromises how genuine the other information is. --Furi January 25, 2008.

a warlock i was with was able to start the quest for thunderfury, apparently any class can use it now
