Missing novels

There are two novels missing from the list, the ebook StarCraft: Uprising and the (unreleased) StarCraft Dark Templar: Firstborn. (StarCraft Ghost: Nova has been out nearly two months.) Kimera757 19:01, 19 January 2007 (EST)

You are more than welcome to add information, if you deign to.--Ragestorm (talk · contr) 23:29, 19 January 2007 (EST)

Spelling

Why is it spelled StarCraft, but we leave World of Warcraft (and Warcraft) without the big c? They both are shown with a big C and with a small c depending on the situation. Having Starcraft with a big C and World of Warcraft (and Warcraft) with a small c though makes no sense. Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 11:39, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Just because I had doubts about this at one point too, I will comment. On the Battle.net beta sign ups, Blizzard spells the franchises' names as "Warcraft", "StarCraft" and "Diablo".--SWM2448 19:36, June 28, 2010 (UTC)

WoWWiki?

Well this site was supposed to be about Warcraft, so why was Starcraft added too? not that it should be deleted --DarckArchon Might of Aiur 16:08, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

I think that this article should stay but just with the list of parallels and references of the Warcraft games. Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 16:12, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
The comparison can stay but the rest should go. The only relation to this is Blizzard, it's a very loose connection to Wow. Thoughts? BobNamataki (talk) 12:57, October 25, 2009 (UTC)
I say it should be deleted. Sorry guys. Just that it's to far off topic. Please no abusers or the wikia community will make sure you get punished accordingly :) (talk) 16:54, June 24, 2010 (UTC)

Use

What is the point of this article? - Cartier001

It's just meant to be informative- I can't tell you the number of people who've asked me "where did Blizzard get all those radical new ideas? WarCraft III is so different from WarCraft II!" Now, instead of just clunking them over the head I can refer them here. I guess we should include a couple of links. Ragestorm 08:17, 1 Mar 2006 (EST)
Hm. One problem is you are assuming people know WC3, when infact this is a WoW wiki. If I had seen this page before playing WoW, I would be very confused, as I had played SC, but not WC3. So... as is I'm not sure what it adds. But I do like starcraft :) --Stfrn 02:14, 2 Mar 2006 (EST)
I admit, you've got a point there. but this isn't exactly the most popular/useful page avaliable. several people I've met on the site came in with WCIII and went to WoW from there- as I say, it's just a small informative piece for those WarCraft junkies who've not played StarCraft. Menawhile, you should see the StarCraft Wiki- it horrible. Ragestorm 07:45, 2 Mar 2006 (EST)
You should see the starcraft wiki? What starcraft wiki? See your talk page, rage.  ℑilver§ℑide 22:49, 12 April 2006 (EDT)

I fixed the date. The game starts on the 12th of December 2499, not 2449. Later episodes took place in early 2500s. Czeslaw

StarCraft Wiki

I can't recall the exact URL for it; but it's basically a site similar in nature to this one, but severly disorganized- categories are unorganized, articles are not really grammer-checked, and there are countless broken links. Also, the site's appearance is identical to wikipedia itself. I'll try to find it again and get back to you. Who knows, maybe some of us could moonlight cleaning up there. -- Ragestorm 22:56, 12 April 2006 (EDT)

That wasn't the point - we've launched our own over at EnterWiki, and I just wanted to make sure there isn't any competition. I hate competition between wikis, waste of time - that's why I didn't launch the planned warcraft wiki, having seen this one. Is there much content? I googled and everything, but could find no such thing.  ℑilver§ℑide 22:58, 12 April 2006 (EDT)

I don't like the way there are three Warcraft Wikis. There is another one just dedicated to Warcraft which is very small. The other one is on the main Wikipedia. It is a shame that people would waste their time adding content to different wikis. -- User:TopDread 02:07, 13 April 2006 (EDT)

Having wikipedia attempt to copy your content and squash you is one of the inherent dangers of running a wiki. Oh well, get used to it. We did.  ℑilver§ℑide 14:54, 14 April 2006 (EDT)

Well, main Wikipedia is fine, technically, but people should really double-check. Whatever that other one is, it'll take a while to get up to what this one's got. I also recall one for the Exile/Avernum universe that is completely... you get the idea. Silverside, with regards to your project, I think there was a standard walkthru of missions etc., with not much else. I'll keep checking, but for all I know it could have been brought down- I can't seem to find it again, either. Ragestorm 22:40, 13 April 2006 (EDT)

Ah, ok - as long as it wasn't very established, I don't really mind just steamrolling it. Thanks!  ℑilver§ℑide 14:54, 14 April 2006 (EDT)

Protoss Zealot?

Since when was there ever a Protoss Zealot model file in Warcraft III? If there is, could someone tell me the path? Thanks. --SBSP 14:02, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

If no one tells me, I'll delete the part that says that Protoss Zealots have a model in Warcraft III. --SBSP 18:45, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

I do not know the path, but it is there. To see some starcraft races fight, beat the full night elf campain in hard mode.--SWM2448 18:48, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

The model exists, but only in that one scene. It isn't even in the campaign editor. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 00:30, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Really? That's weird. --SBSP 14:45, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Is this too much like a blizzard promotion?

See title. It seems that a simple description of "sequel to starcraft, with ... new units and ...returning units" is aenough for now. I'm taking out some of the more "promotional" parts for now, just in case it is.Minionman 19:37, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

New Units

I added some more of these, but am not completely sure what the policy on adding them is. How many will be added, and what happens if the section gets too big?Minionman 19:51, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Continue the unit lists?

As more units get revealed, it seems this article will get very large for the "this is a warcraft wiki, not a starcraft wiki" equivalent at the top of the page. It seems either shorter descriptions of unit abilities (ex. "Colossus; a large unit the can step up and down cliffs, can be hit by air, and has continuous attacks that work well against small units"), or just describing the races in general with a few unit examples (ex. "Terrans tend to use ranged units with transforming abilities. An example is the Thor, a large, powerful unit that can bombard a fixed area for a very large amount of damage."), while also describing the additions of more mobile units.Minionman 02:35, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Keep
  1. Keep - Lot's of no comments up there, so it's hard to see why people would think this should be deleted. 1) I do not see this as being "too off topic". It contains the references found in any one of the warcraft games. For a second reason why this is untrue, Starcraft and Warcraft have been intertwined since the release of SC 1. Blizzard has used what it's learned in Warcraft to aid its SC development and vice versa. 2) As that was a stated deletion reason (that they should be listed in said topics), that would be considered trivial content for the articles mentioned. 3) "Doesn't really seem necessary" - in vein with nomination and already discussed. --Sky (t · c) 18:35, June 28, 2010 (UTC)
  2. Keep Benitoperezgaldos (talkcontribs) 18:58, June 28, 2010 (UTC) - (I agree with Sky. While some of the information could be put in their respective articles, it would be too trivial or unimportant and may get removed; and other information can hardly be added to any article (like the "Unequal units" section).)
