Training Dummies are mechanical NPCs that enables you to test your dps out on different level mobs. Training dummies are currently located in all of the capital cities.
Types
- Located in most major cities
Old Worlder's Training Dummy- Outlander's Training Dummy
- Northrender's Training Dummy
- Raider's Training Dummy
- Located in Acherus: The Ebon Hold
- Initiate's Training Dummy
- Disciple's Training Dummy
- Veteran's Training Dummy
- Ebon Knight's Training Dummy
- Others
- Hellfire Training Dummy found in The Shattered Halls. (can't be attacked)
Locations
- The Exodar: Near Gurrag in The Crystal Hall[24, 33]
In Cataclysm
Many training dummies will be installed around most, if not all, starting towns. They will help players to learn their new abilities, and often is an objective of one of the first few quests new players will receive.
Notes
You can gain melee Weapon skill by fighting dummies and hitting them with special melee abilities i.e 
[Heart Strike], 
[Heroic Strike] etc but will take much longer than fighting an NPC. Ranged weapon skill cannot benefit from this. You cannot be marked AFK while doing this.
