Mana Tap[]
Might wanna clarify if Mana Tap (Blood Elf racial) "drains" or "burns" the mentioned 50 mana. The torrent racial is set to work with rogues, generating energy - would they be missing out on the drained mana then? Seems like it would be a burn, not a drain. --Falos 05:20, 9 January 2007 (EST)
- Mana Tap doesn't actually drain the mana, as using it provides no gain in mana to the caster. Likewise it doesn't burn, since the target doesn't take damage from Mana Tap. It just simply reduces the mana. Greymore 22:25, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Why do Trolls have Bow Specialization?[]
Really, why? I don't get it. They should get something like spear specialization instead. Plus, why do they get five racial traits instead of four? Saimdusan
First of all because in wow you cant trow spears.And by the way, humans have sword AND mace specialization written as ONE racial but trolls throw and bow spec are written as TWO. And by the way I dont think bow and trow weapons skill is even close so important as sword and mace skill +5.
OK... then why is Sword and Mace written as one racial trait? And why do humans get Mace Specialization? And Trolls have never used bows until WoW, if anything it should be a Night Elf or Blood Elf trait. Saimdusan 15:28, 4 December 2006 (EST)
- Although this is very old, I thought I'd try to clear it up some for future readers. Humans get mace specialization because maces, along with swords, are the most common human weapon. Looking back through the games you'll see that it is the main weapon of both the Knights, Paladins, and Clerics (Priests). As for why Trolls get bow spec, it has more to do with Blizzard realizing how worthless Throwing specialization is/was than actual lore reasons. Lore-wise, however, jungle trolls are expert hunters and the bow is one of the simplest ranged weapons in creation. While trolls most certainly used bows for hunting, they are renown for their ability with spears. Sadly, due to mechanics in WoW, not only can't spears be thrown but hunter abilities don't work with thrown weapons. So to make up for a worthless ability, Blizzard added Bows to it as well. The WOW official site says all weapon racials, Troll bow and thrown, Dwarf gun, Human maces and axes, and Orc axes are all +1% crit now. http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/races/humans.html
