Hares are not rabbits. Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 08:09, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Close enough to share a category. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 08:22, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Well it is not like frogs and toads is it? Do they share the same model like the frogs and toads do? Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 08:47, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
They do intend share the same model... why would they create two models for such little differences. Same with wolves and worgs, frogs and toads, and any other similar creatures. Maybe I am thinking of "skins" then. The hares look like they have longer ears than rabbits. Also, on Wowhead I didn't see a "same model as" for them. Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 03:17, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
I guess the category could be rabbits but I still think the race should be hare. Saying a hare is a rabbit is: 1) wrong. 2) saying a lion seal is a sea lion or a hawk is an eagle because they look similiar. Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 03:35, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
You can place hare in race= all you want, but just leave the category as is. As for skins, they use the same as well. Infact, bliz has only 3 skins for rabbits/hares in the game -- RabbitSkin, RabbitSkinwhite, and RabbitSkinBrown.
Also, don't rely on wowhead to show you same model as all the time, I'm not sure why they do that for some and not others, but they don't seem to have every mob/npc covered with that section. Ah I see. It would be nice to know if you were looking at a mob/npc that had a "same model as" missing or just that there is no other model like it. Oh well. Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 08:07, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Location

The mob "Hare" is only found in Durotar. What is so hard about that? This isn't a page only on "hares" the animal. Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 04:49, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

This is why the creature page and specifically named mob/critters/npcs are separate. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 05:47, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
They are separate in a way. This is the mob Hare and the creature page does not exist. Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 06:04, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
...how does that make them separate "in a way".... this was the mob's page, cause the creature page was rabbit, to which you took everything hare related from it and placed it here, making it the new creature page, but also containing the mob info. If you won't allow info of other hares on the page, then move the mob parts to Hare (critter). I just added the "Types" section. I didn't know that was making the article a creature page too. Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 06:59, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
You also added "Although most hares are critters, some are also beasts and pets. " making it the creature page. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 07:05, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Hare

I am not saying a jackrabbit is a hare. I am saying that this is the closest existing article that I could think of to put jackrabbit in since they are, in nature, closer to hares than rabbits unless you want me to make a "Jackrabbit" article? Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 10:09, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Tell me why you need to add a "Jackrabbit" reference anywhere. Where it the jackrabbit reference in LoC? What's the exact quote? --g0urra[T҂C] 10:29, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
Well, I found the quote, and it's more or less obscure:
"Once, as I observed the dome from a safe distance away, I startled a jackrabbit. The rabbit streaked toward the dome; when it got within 20 feet of that swirling blue sphere, the rabbit abruptly flashed into bright orange fire. Only a rabbit-shaped smear of ash marked its passing."Template:Cite
There is no mention of hares. The only reference to that a jackrabbit is more related to a hare would be on Wikipedia (see wikipedia:Jackrabbit). --g0urra[T҂C]
Two sources of "jackrabbit" are known which is worthy of a mention. I have seen stuff put on here by admins with only one source, and obscurer than mine. ("Bobcat", "Puma", "Crag panther", "Sabertooth cat"). I guess you want to do it the hard way. I will make a "jackrabbit" article then. Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 10:38, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
