Death Knights

Need to be added. I was going to edit the main page, but the table looked like something that had been generated, and I would have been hard pressed to inject another column with the right colors into it. For reference, DK's start with Axes, Polearms, Swords, 2H Axes, and 2H Swords; And All Armor Proficiencies (but not Shields).--Shadowics (talk) 01:47, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Their ya go! Hand done.--Mentok (Mentok) 02:46, 17 November 2008

This is information that just doesn't belong on the "category" page so I broke it out and set it up as an article listed in the category. This should help make the other items in the category easier to find. --BaldMonkey 21:00, 29 Sep 2005 (EDT)

Fact Check

It would be nice if the races which started with each racial-dependant proficiency were noted, and the various staring proficiencies checked. I know I created a troll warrior who did NOT start with 1H swords, or 1H Maces... --Bobson 07:47, 16 November 2006 (EST)

Concur, tauren and dwarf hunter start out with a gun as I recall. --Voidvector 01:52, 22 January 2007 (EST)
Fixed the Starting skills for Hunter ranged and Pallies. Not sure about the other ones yet, so I left them as is --Drozen 12:16, 9 February 2007 (EST)

Thanks, Drozen! --Bobson 17:00, 9 February 2007 (EST)

Hum... on that note I just noticed that all of the racial icons for weapon proficiencies are of the male variety. For some reason it struck me as being a bit sexist, so I changed some of them to females.--Djaevlenselv 13:04, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Which is totally misleading. I mean come on there is already the dot icon, the trainer icon, numbers next to the trainer because you need to know the level and on top of that 8 different race icons into which you then also throw another possible 8 icons to point out that there are also females... let's revert that. Does anyone know which skill applies when fighting with Fishing Pole? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by TAP3AH (talk · contr).

No skill is (besides fishing) is needed to fight with pole, as such it also does not increase any skill points. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 00:04, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
I know that, but something has to determine chances to miss, crit etc... So, when you swing with Fishing pole, there must be a weapon skill value applied. It might be Unarmed. TAP3AH 00:22, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
If anything, it prolly uses the skill a druids cat/bear/etc use. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 06:35, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Druids and Polearms

According to patch notes which are listed/referenced in this article, druids may now train polearms at lvl 20 as with other jobs that are able to. I went ahead and added the battlemaster icon to the table. --Saikouoffenrir (talk) 04:00, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Fishing poles

It seems to me that they don't belong here. Yes, they can be equipped as a weapon, but so can mining picks, etc. Fishing poles don't have a corresponding weapon proficiency (and this is, after all, a page about proficiencies) and you can actually even equip the basic [Fishing Pole] without having trained in fishing.

If you disagree with the removal, this is the place to discuss it.  :-)
