Has anyone else noticed that the Black Morass, now the Blasted Lands, was north of the the Swamp of Sorrows in WarCraft I&II. WHile in WoW the Blasted Lands are south of the swamp of sorrows.
Conan
What is the origin of the name "Blasted Lands"? In the Conan series, the Blasted Lands is a place where a wizard opened a portal that allowed daemons to spill out thus occupying the local shamans and aiding his escape.
- While the two places are superficially similar since the Warcraft Blasted Lands are also the location of a wizard-opened portal that demons spill out from, the Blasted Lands were not called such when the portal was made. Rather it is a name given to the southern part of the Black Morass when the portal imploded sucking all life and moisture from the landscape and leaving behind a lifeless, charred landscape. WC III Custom Game Maps not official lore
whoever keeps adding info like the blasted lands were once populated by centaur, taken from a WCIII random map titled Blasted Lands, needs to stop. WC III custom maps are NOT part of official lore. - Think of it this way, the WCIII map Plaguelands was set in Felwood, while we all know that the Plaguelands are in Lordaeron. Not to mention that blizzard put in a WCIII map that showed the Plaguelands are in Lordaeron, while at the same time putting it in Felwooed. And Duskwood is in the Eastern Kingdoms, south of Elwynn, while in WCIII it is in Ashenvale. Basically every WCIII map is not official, except for a few Northrend ones, which have great similarities with some Northrend places in WoW.

Nethergarde Ownership?
The article states in some places it is commanded from StormWind, but other places that it is Dalaran, personally i remember it as Dalaran from other sources but i ain't sure.. So wich one is it? -Rovdyr 08:42, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
