Just reading Tides of Darkness and as far as I can tell Faol did not know about the destruction of Northshire and particularly it's Abbey as he asked Lothar whether it survived.

And further to that how do we know his name may have been Farol? Seems like a big assumption. Paynes 20:43, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

First off, multiple accounts may exist for Faol and what happened between first and second war. This may have lead to conflicts existing between sources. I suggest you look at our lore policy for when this happens, Wowpedia:Lore policy#Conflicts.
As for "Farol", Shadows & Light calls him "Farol", and a later RPG book, Alliance Player's Guide discusses that Archbishops take on a new name when they become Archbishop. Jarl for example became Benedictus. So if Faol had a previous name as is supported by info established in APG, then its possible that Farol was that name. In anycase the way its worded in the article points out that it is speculation, and not essentially known for sure.Baggins 20:53, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

Fan art[]

There's a particularly large amount of fan art on this page; do we really need any or all of it? Especially since my understanding is that we generally don't use fan art at all unless it's been featured by Blizzard. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 20:09, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

Agreed. They were *UNSIGHTLY*... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Malikishak1991 (talk · contr).

Quests[]

Wowhead still lists the following as being ended by Alonsus.

Is that no longer correct? --Mordecay (talk) 18:53, 9 April 2018 (UTC)

Undead[]

Considering this edit, there is no mention of him in the Q&A at BlizzCon 2015 (this video) and BlizzCon 2016 (this video). Not sure if he may have been mentioned anywhere else during the WoW Panel, but this seems like a question someone would ask, not that Blizzard would just randomly bring this up. On an unrelated note, they did talk about why undead can't be paladins but can be priests.SurafbrovWowpedia administrator T / C 16:44, 26 June 2018 (UTC)

I checked the Blizzplanet's transcripts of 2015 and didn't find it either. Not sure where Red Shirt Guy got it from, but I asked him to provide a source. Maybe they said it during a more closed / personal thing rather than on the main panels, similar to the thing (IIRC) about Ambermill quests in Cata being not canon. --Mordecay (talk) 16:48, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
Who's Ian? I feel clueless here Xporc (talk) 17:14, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
I meant Ion Hazzikostas. — SurafbrovWowpedia administrator T / C 17:46, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
Mordecay meant Ian Bates (the Red Shirt Guy), who replied on Scrolls of Lore that: "It wasn't at a panel, there was a mini Q and A where some developers were just standing around near the voice actor's stage answering questions. I don't think anyone filmed it I'm afraid." -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 21:16, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
Unfortunately, we can't use hearsay as a source, no matter how reliable the hearer may be. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 02:33, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
Does that mean we should also remove the bit on Wrathion's article about how he was present in the BfA demo at BlizzCon, since the only source we have for that is the Red Shirt Guy's post on SoL? -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 11:57, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
If there's no accompanying screenshot or secondary corroboration, I think we'd have to. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 17:33, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
I think it's a different situation. Wrathion being in the Alliance embassy is notified in an official Blizzplanet article which was written a short time after the event. The Red Shirt Guy comment about Faol was written months after the Blizzcon and at that point it's a throwaway comment in an unrelated post, he may have forgotten how things were at the time and be more unreliable, you know? Xporc (talk) 12:06, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
Oh, if it was mentioned in a Blizzplanet article then I totally agree about keeping it. That's something tangible we can source. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 19:15, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
Well the Blizzplanet article was written by RedShirtGuy :D Xporc (talk) 19:46, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
