Hi, this is my first attempt at an entire WowWiki article.

I am planning on an entire series of these as I learn about programming in WoW.

Please review this page and offer critiques and hints about proper everything.

Go ahead and correct, just please let me know why in the discussion page so I can learn.

Thanks, --Gregity (talk) 03:42, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Major structure revision

This article got a rename and a restructure in the first several minutes of it's life.

I hope that I didn't loose anybody. Probably lost an edit or two however. i'm gonna review any pages I can to see if i can find anything lost.

Thanks for your interest, --Gregity (talk) 04:15, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Don't use subpages. With the category system that wikis have, there's no sensible use to a / in the article name. It also makes using the name more difficult. I already can guess who did it.
Also, in see also sections, I avoid (and usually remove) categories. If they need to see also on the category, either that category should be on the article as a category, or you should have a link to the parent article of the category instead.
Those are the couple of things I saw.
On the subpage, it should have a introduction paragraph. You had it on this page but obviously it was removed when it was split to a subpage. I honestly don't think it was long enough to warrant that subpage... --Sky (t · c · w) 04:01, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
I told him to use subpages. We are not going to do categories for each tutorial. User:Adys/Sig 05:27, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
Just the same, don't use a subpage. It is easier to use [[AddOn programming tutorial introduction]] than it is [[AddOn programming tutorial/Introduction|AddOn programming tutorial introduction]]. I could give you a whole slew of other reasons to read about if you want me to, which I suspect you don't. --Sky (t · c · w) 06:11, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
Alternatively, it could be renamed entirely and be supported by templates (it will be eventually from what I can tell) to something of the idea of Introduction to AddOn programming. We lose the tutorial part of it, but we gain autonomy in the article naming. You can go a lot of places with a name like that — not so with a slash or even with just the elimination of the slash --Sky (t · c · w) 06:15, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
This article pretty nearly duplicates the content of Getting started with writing addons. I believe people ending up at the two articles are looking for the same thing, and the duplicated content contributes to the wtf-factor of learning about wow ui. Please consider merging this article with the other. Thanks, Ukadrezel (talk) 18:00, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
Despite the 'duplication' in this page, it does a much more thorough job than Getting started with writing addons. Thus this page is incredibly useful. I look forward to seeing further entries into this series. Thanks
