The energies released by the well caused a massive explosion that shattered the once single continent of Kalimdor into three seperate continents. In the place where the Well once sat was instead a churning vortex known as the [[Maelstrom]]. The Sundering completely destroyed the culture of the ancient Kaldorei, leaving their cities in ruins and sucking Queen [[Azshara]] and many of her High Born servants into the ocean. The surviving elves, were eventually able to make their way to Mount [[Hyjal]], founding a new society of Night Elves. |
