Stress testing is the act of stressing various parts of software by putting heavy and increased load on inputs (large graphics, more operations, more users, etc.), constrained or reduced resources (low bandwidth, low memory, low storage, etc.), or operating on below recommended hardware (slow CPU, slow hard drive, etc).
