The Spirit of Competiton is a event that is during August 8 - August 24 (first occurence around 2008 Beijing Olympics).

Lore

Every two years the Spirits of Competition grow especially fervent... and now is that time! Both Alliance and Horde wear this tabard into the Battlegrounds to honor the spirits, seekign to defeat all enemies and earn their favor.

Rewards

[Competitor's Tabard] - Obtained from losing or winning a battleground. You MUST stay for the full duration of the battleground
Pet TBD - Obtained from winning a battleground. Everytime you win a battleground, you have a chance this pet is mailed to you. It is summoned by a [Gold Medallion]. There is only one color available at the moment. The battleground you play doesn't matter, but winning does.
Souveneir TBD - No information yet.
