Attacking all nearby enemies for Physical damage every 0.5 sec.
Duration: 1.5 seconds
Spinning Crane Kick, commonly abbreviated "SCK", is a monk ability. While channelled it deals physical damage every 0.5 seconds for 1.5 seconds (without any haste). This is the main area of effect attack for monk, meaning that this is the main ability that is used when facing against multiple enemies.
Note[]
This ability is used in all three monk specs. For Brewmaster it generates AOE aggro and retrieves Healing Spheres (created by eg [Gift of the Ox]); for Mistweaver it converts to healing via [Awakened Faeline]; for Windwalker it is a Chi spender and source of AOE damage, especially with the [Dance of Chi-Ji] proc.
8yds is larger than melee range, allowing the monk to hit targets that they cannot attack with other abilities.
In Windwalker specialization a small number will be displayed on the button indicating how many targets are currently affected by [Mark of the Crane].
No longer maximum target capped and now deals reduced damage beyond 5 targets.
Rank 2 now increases Spinning Crane Kick's damage by 18% (was 15%) for each unique target struck with Blackout Kick, Tiger Palm and Rising Sun Kick in the last 20 seconds. Stacks up to 5 times (was 6).
Hotfix (2021-07-13):Fixed an interaction between [Storm, Earth, and Fire] and Spinning Crane Kick that dealt more damage than intended.
Patch 9.1.0 (2021-06-29): Damage increased by 20%.
Hotfix (2021-03-22):Resolved an issue with Spinning Crane Kick that prevented the ability from gaining benefit from [Mastery: Combo Strikes].
Fixed an issue that caused [Tiger Palm] to grant an additional stack of Mark of the Crane when Storm, Earth and Fire is active.
Fixed an issue that allowed Mark of the Crane to be maintained permanently at maximum stacks while fighting a single target.
Fixed an issue that could cause Spinning Crane Kick's damage to not be properly increased by Mark of the Crane if targets die with the Monk's mark active.
All Monks can now use Spinning Crane Kick at level 7 (was level 40 for Mistweaver and Windwalker only). Now capped at 6 targets.
Brewmaster: Spinning Crane Kick has an additional effect – Dealing damage with Spinning Crane Kick grants Shuffle for 1 second, and causes your Gift of the Ox healing spheres to travel towards your location.
Windwaker: damage is increased by up to 6 Mark of the Crane debuffs inflicted upon targets (was 5).
Mark of the Crane moved to Rank 2, learned at level 33 for Windwalker.

Hotfix (2017-12-01):Reapplying Mark of the Crane to a target will now properly increase Spinning Crane Kick's damage.
Spinning Crane Kick's Mark of the Crane's damage bonus per target reduced to 40% (was 50%) per target.
Hotfix (2016-09-23):Spinning Crane Kick (Mistweaver) damage reduced by 25%.
Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Redesigned. Now available at level 40 (was 46) but no longer to Brewmaster monks. Spin while kicking in the air, dealing (300% of attack power) damage over 1.5 sec to enemies within 8 yds. Windwalker: Spinning Crane Kick's damage is increased by 50% for each unique target you've struck in the last 15 sec with Tiger Palm, Blackout Kick, or Rising Sun Kick.
Previous: You spin while kicking in the air, dealing damage to all nearby enemies every 0.75 sec, within 8 yards. Movement speed is reduced by 30%. Generates 1 Chi, if it hits at least 3 targets. Lasts 2.2 sec. During Spinning Crane Kick, you can continue to dodge and parry.
Hotfix (2014-10-17):Damage has been increased by 20%.
Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14): Now always generates 1 Chi, and no longer reduces movement speed.
Patch 5.4.0 (2013-09-10): Now functions like a smart heal, healing the 6 most injured friendly targets within range, and minor guardians are no longer targeted (Wild Imps, Bloodworms, Snakes from Snake Traps, etc.). There has been no change to the total amount of healing granted by the ability.
