Use of this skill will usually force a caster to enter melee combat, where they are at a considerable disadvantage.

- / Patch 3.0.2 (14-Oct-2008): Spell Lock (Felhunter) global cooldown removed.
- Patch 2.1.0 (22-May-2007): Spell Lock (Felhunter) duration reduced to 5 seconds (rank 1) and 6 seconds (rank 2), and cooldown reduced to 24 seconds.
- Patch 1.7.0 (13-Sep-2005): In addition to interrupting spellcasting, it will now silence the target for a short duration.
