[[Druid]]s possess the unique ability to shapeshift, which means to turn themselves into something else. They can shapeshift into a [[Bear Form|bear]], a [[Cat Form|panther]] (night elves), a [[Cat Form|lion]] (tauren), a [[Travel Form|cheetah]], a [[Aquatic Form|sea lion]], both [[Flight Form|slow]] and [[Swift Flight Form|fast]] birds, and, with the right talent templates, a [[Moonkin Form|Moonkin]] or a [[Tree of Life Form|Tree of Life]].

Other classes have similar sets of abilities of which only one can be active at any given time, although they are not considered shapeshifting. This includes [[Warrior]] [[Stance]]s, [[Paladin]] [[Aura]]s, the [[Stealth]] ability of a [[Rogue]] and the [[Shadowform]] ability of a [[Priest talents#Shadow|shadow]] [[Priest]]. As of [[Patch 2.3]], trying to use an ability that may only be used in caster form will cause you to leave the form and use that ability. This means that you can shift from one form to another, and use said ability, in one action. If you don’t have enough [[Mana]] to shift form, you will get an error message and remain in your current form. This can be disabled with: <tt>/console autoUnshift 0</tt>
