Greater Heal is a priest healing spell. It is the largest single-target direct heal available to the class, and the spell of choice if your target needs a large amount of healing, but isn't in any immediate danger. In the triumverate of single target heals it is the big hammer healing tool, as opposed to the much more affordable but weaker [Greater Heal], and the faster but more expensive [Flash Heal].

Notes

• [Flash Heal] and Greater Heal has a very similar mana cost. Greater Heal heals for more, but the two spells have a comparable HPS. The major difference lies in the cast time and healing-per-mana-spent. For more sustained healing, use Greater Heal over Flash Heal where possible.
• A chain of 2x [Flash Heal] followed by a [Serendipity]-empowered Greater Heal yields the highest possible single target HPS of a priest.
• Greater Heal is usually a good choice if you need to "catch up" on healing, while [Greater Heal] is a good choice if you need to conserve mana. Balancing these two spells is important if you want to last for the entire fight, without losing anyone.

Improvements

• [Divine Fury] reduces the cast time of Greater Heal by up to 0.5 seconds. This talent is largely considered mandatory for all healing priests.
• [Empowered Healing] increases the healing done by Greater Heal by 5/10/15%.
• Greater Heal can proc [Grace] and Inspiration.
• [Renewed Hope] increases the critical effect chance of your Greater Heal by 5/10% upon targets with the Weakened Soul debuff.
• [Serendipity] procs make your next Greater Heal 10/20% faster and 5/10% cheaper.
