A seal is a short-term self-buff which boost the Paladin's power temporarily for two minutes. Additionally, Paladins can unleash these seals upon an enemy through the use of Judgement. Each type of seal will have a different effect when unleashed. Since patch 3.0.2 the Paladins seal does not disappear when unleashing the seals with a Judgement


The Seals provide the following buffs to the Paladin:

Seal Tree Levels Seal notes Judgement notes
Righteousness Holy 1, 10, 18, ... Each melee attack adds holy damage to your regular weapon damage depending on the speed of your weapon. The seal deals more damage with 2-H weapons for the same attack speed. Deals instant holy damage to the enemy.
Command Retribution 20, 30, ... Melee attacks have a good chance to deal additional Holy Damage 70% of the weapon's damage. This is gained by a talent. Deals instant holy damage, and double damage if the target is stunned or incapacitated.
Justice Protection 22, 48 Melee attacks have a chance to stun for 2 seconds. This prevents mobs from fleeing (PvE only). Rank 2 also prevents the target from going above normal running speed.
Light Holy 30, 40, 50, 60 Each melee attack has a chance to heal the Paladin for 39/53/76/94/133 HP. Each melee attack has a chance to heal the attacker for 25/34/49/61/95 HP.
Wisdom Holy 38, 48, 58 Each melee attack has a chance to restore the Paladin's mana for 50/71/90/121 mana. Each attack (physical or spell) has a chance to restore mana to the attacker for 33/46/59/74 mana.
Vengeance Retribution 64 Each melee attack has a chance to cause 120 Holy damage over 12 sec. This effect can stack up to 5 times. Instantly causes 120 Holy damage per application of Holy Vengeance.
Corruption Retribution 66 Each melee attack has a chance to cause 120 Holy damage over 12 sec. This effect can stack up to 5 times. Instantly causes 120 Holy damage per application of Holy Vengeance.
Blood Retribution 64 All melee attacks deal additional Holy damage equal to 35% normal weapon damage, but the Paladin loses health equal to 10% of the total damage inflicted. Instantly causes 295 to 325 Holy damage at the cost of health equal to 33% of the damage caused.
Martyr Retribution 66 All melee attacks deal additional Holy damage equal to 35% normal weapon damage, but the Paladin loses health equal to 10% of the total damage inflicted. Instantly causes 295 to 325 Holy damage at the cost of health equal to 33% of the damage caused.
Wrath ? 70 Harmful spells and effects deal additional holy damage. Not available to players, possessed only by Dawnblade Blood Knight on the Isle of Quel'Danas. Judgement causes 50 holy damage every three seconds.

Seal of Vengeance is available only to Alliance paladins; Seal of Blood is available only to Blood knights.

Seals and Judgements Hit/Crit mechanic

The Seals and their Judgements have complex hit/crit mechanics, based on melee or spell type. After Patch 1.9.0 Seals of Command, Justice, Light and Wisdom 'proc per minute' (PPM) and Judgements that place debuffs cannot be resisted.
