{{Paladin seals}} |
Revision as of 02:27, 11 February 2009
Seal abilities are short term self-buffs that compose one half of the baseline paladin combat system.
General Information
A Seal is a self-buff which temporarily boosts the paladin's power for thirty minutes. The system of interactions between the various Seals and Judgements compose the main bulk of the paladin class' combat system.
Seals cause an additional effect to occur on successful melee attacks. These effects vary greatly, from returning mana or health to causing high amounts of Holy damage. In addition, all seals have an "unleash" effect that is activated through using a Judgement ability. By unleashing a seal, the paladin can deal a large amount of Holy damage instantly to the target (the exact amount and effect depending on the active seal) as well as cause additional effects based on the Judgement.
All seals last for 30 minutes and are treated as a magic-type dispellable buff.
Available Seals
Seal Name | Seal Description | Judgement Description | Level Trained | School | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
[Seal of Righteousness] | Fills the Paladin with holy spirit, granting each melee attack additional Holy damage. | Unleashing this Seal's energy will cause Holy damage to an enemy. | - | Holy | |
[Seal of Command] | Gives the Paladin a chance to deal additional Holy damage. | Unleashing this Seal's energy will judge an enemy, instantly causing Holy damage. This attack will always be a critical strike if the target is stunned or incapacitated. | Talented | Retribution | |
[Seal of Justice] | Fills the Paladin with the spirit of justice, giving each melee attack a chance to stun for 2 sec. | Unleashing this Seal's energy will cause Holy damage to an enemy. | 22 | Protection | |
[Seal of Light] | Fills the Paladin with divine light, giving each melee attack a chance to heal the Paladin. | Unleashing this Seal's energy will cause Holy damage to an enemy. | 30 | Holy | |
[Seal of Wisdom] | Fills the Paladin with divine wisdom, giving each melee attack a chance to restore mana. | Unleashing this Seal's energy will cause Holy damage to an enemy. | 38 | Holy | |
[Seal of Blood] / [Seal of the Martyr] | All melee attacks deal additional Holy damage, but the Paladin loses health equal to 10% of the total damage inflicted. | Unleashing this Seal's energy will judge an enemy, instantly causing Holy damage at the cost of health equal to 33% of the damage caused. | 64/66 | Retribution | |
[Seal of Corruption] / [Seal of Vengeance] | Fills the Paladin with holy power, causing attacks to apply Holy Vengeance, which deals additional Holy damage over 15 sec. Holy Vengeance can stack up to 5 times. | Unleashing this Seal's energy will judge an enemy, instantly causing Holy damage to an enemy, increased for each application of Holy Vengeance on the target. | 66/64 | Holy |
[Seal of Blood] and [Seal of the Martyr] are in fact the same spell. For flavor reasons, Alliance players will train Martyr while Horde players use Blood. The same applies to [Seal of Corruption] and [Seal of Vengeance], respectively.
