Coobra's rendering

Using the current map and provided information from zones/subzones... this is how I currently see the seas. Forgive the quality, but I only threw this together in like 5 minutes. Seems the Great Sea ain't so great. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 06:50, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

Hmm, forgot to label it, one second. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 06:51, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
Nice, I was going to do one myself but you rushed before me :P. I would remove the Coral Sea (we don't know where it is; and no, Azshara doesn't make sense since it says Zin-Azshari is near).
Also, I'd make the North Sea bigger. I'm not sure how water limits are calculated, but I'll give it a check and make my own map if necessary :).--Lon-ami (talk) 09:18, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
Hell, if the Coral Sea was near Zin-Azshari and Suramar, it probably doesn't even exist anymore, being simply part of the Great Sea now. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 09:42, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
The North Sea seems to stretch into the Frozen Sea, as things like the domain of the Northsea Freebooters and all the North Sea stuff in Icecrown show. The Coral Sea seems to be a small part of the Great Sea, and it makes perfect sense to be near the zone of Azshara because that is all we know about it!--SWM2448 22:20, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
Isn't there southsea booters in the barrens too? i think...--Ashbear160 (talk) 23:59, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
I'm going to visit some zones I haven't been to in a while and confirm a few of the seas and their distance into places, and then I'll modify my map, but I'd love to see your version Lon-ami. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 00:52, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
Ok, I updated the map according to how the world is in-game, and not just by the sea labels on the maps... Interestingly, if you enter the main STV zone (which houses the two smaller ones) its South Seas, but when you enter Northern Stranglethorn it becomes the Great Sea, there's even a small section of which it flip flops the names if you fly back and forth. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 03:39, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
Some questions before finishing my map (can't check myself now):
  • Blasted Lands touches the South Seas? where do they meet the Forbidden Sea?
  • Uldum touches the South Seas? where do they meet the Veiled Sea?
  • Winterspring coast touches the Veiled Sea? where does it meet the Great Sea?
I think that's all. As mentioned before, I think the Great Sea and the South Seas meet at the middle of Stranglethorn. Kezan worries me, because it's in the Great Sea if I'm not wrong.
In the end, I think Blizzard didn't care too much with the positions, so I may add some personal theories over in-game limits. It's a huge mess, and even worse if you try to apply real world laws for sea limits.
PS: The problem of the Coral Sea is it's said to touch Azshara and Zin-Azshari, which is impossible.--Lon-ami (talk) 10:55, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
It is not impossible. Zin-Azshari is currently simultaneously under the Maelstrom and around the zone of Azshara. It was either that big, or it split.--SWM2448 16:30, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
No way, that's just the RPG contradicting itself >_<.--Lon-ami (talk) 19:08, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
I can cite both locations without the RPG, as I did on Zin-Azshari.--SWM2448 19:16, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
Blasted Lands does not touch South Seas. It's the Forbidding Sea, until you hit STV, then it becomes the South Seas.
Uldum nor Ahn'Qiraj name their nearby sea, so I assumed the Uldum area would be South Seas, and Veiled Sea around Ahn'Qiraj, but I don't know where one ends and the other begins.
I forgot to check Winterspring, but I assume the same as above, since Blizz tended to not name the seas for zones that you can't access the water from.
I think it was the Lost Isles that was in the Great Sea, but Kezan in the South Seas... Yea... I didn't like how they did that, so the sea chart looks rather... weird, but another zone I didn't physically check, so I'll have to revisit Kezan later. Well if the Lost Isles are supposed to be near Azshara, that makes sense to me. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 02:32, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
