In [[World of Warcraft]], PUG is an acronym for [[Pickup Group]]
In [[World of Warcraft]], a pickup group is any group that does not group together on a regular basis. People that are in groups like this are more likely to do things that are in their own best intrest as opposed to the group of as a whole.

A pickup group is normally started by one or two people who are wanting to do some conent that is more challenging then they could do on their own. They then use /who to locate people that could be useful to their objective.

If you are the leader of a PUG then it normally falls on you to locate people for any empty spaces in your group, and establish the loot rules.

Loot rules should always be told to all of the party members prior to starting on your objectives. This will reduce the possibility of argueing over who gets what item, and allow people who don't agree with the rules to drop out without being angry at the group.
