While some capes provide more fire resistance, the Onyxia Scale Cloak is essential for most of the bosses in Blackwing Lair since this cloak prevents Shadow Flame from engulfing the target (DoTs the target after hitting them).

Notes
1-4 Scales of Onyxia can drop when Onyxia is skinned. 315 skinning is required to skin her, which necessitates at least two out of three of Finkle's Skinner, 
[Zulian Slicer], and +5 skinning enchanted gloves.
