Dragonkin Menace in the Burning Steppes
- To start the quest line, you must speak with Helendis Riverhorn at Morgan's Vigil in the southeastern part of Burning Steppes. Starts the quest [54] Dragonkin Menace.
[54] True Masters chain in Lakeshire and Stormwind
- The next set of quests starts with [54] The True Masters. You are sent to Lakeshire to Magistrate Solomon, then Stormwind Keep to Highlord Bolvar Fordragon, then Katrana Prestor right next to him, then back to Lakeshire and finally Morgan's Vigil again.
The search for Marshal Windsor in Blackrock Depths
- Marshal Maxwell will give you the quest Marshal Windsor, in which you search for Ragged John who is located north of Ruins of Thaurissan in Burning Steppes.
- After that, you need to return to Marshal Maxwell to get [54D] Abandoned Hope, which sends you to Blackrock Depths in search of Marshal Reginald Windsor. Find him here, and he will tell you to return to Marshal Maxwell.
Jailbreak from Blackrock Depths
- Travel back to Blackrock Depths and hunt early mobs like Anvilrage Guardsmans, and Anvilrage Wardens. One of them will drop [A Crumpled Up Note]. These can even be found outside of the Blackrock Depths instance itself. Upon obtaining [A Crumpled Up Note], you will talk to Marshal Windsor once again. He will then give you [58D] A Shred of Hope. This requires you to kill General Angerforge and Golem Lord Argelmach in order to retrieve documents from each. Then return to Marshall Windsor to start the escort quest [58D] Jail Break!

She gives you the quest [Drakefire Amulet] so you can get [Blood of the Black Dragon Champion] in Upper Blackrock Spire. Completion of this quest will give you the [Drakefire Amulet] and in turn access to Onyxia's Lair.
