Odyn is one of the Titanic watchers of the Broken Isles. He rules the Halls of Valor, and has been cursed by Helya to be trapped there along with his valarjar army. Despite this curse, however, Odyn can leave the halls in the form of a vrykul named Havi.
It was Odyn who forcefully and painfully turned Helya into the first val'kyr when she tried to stop him from forcing female vrykul to become val'kyr. She spent many hundreds of years serving as a slave for Odyn until she broke free with the help of Loken and formed Helheim to oppose Odyn and his forces. Also, before Helya was turned into the first val'kyr, Odyn and Helya had a father daughter relationship.
Odyn, a titan keeper, forged the Halls of Valor to house the souls of the greatest vrykul warriors. These warriors have been forged into a new army, the valarjar, in order protect Azeroth from all threats. However, cursed by Helya, Odyn and his army are now trapped within these halls.
- Odyn is an obvious reference to Odin, the one-eyed chief deity of Norse mythology.
- While disguised as Havi, Odyn is accompanied by two ravens named Huginn and Muninn. In Norse myth, these ravens belonged to Odin and flew across the world, known as Midgard, to bring him information. His dragon refers to Odin's eight-legged horse Sleipnir.
