An organization of the night elves. It consisted of sorcerers and warriors and was led by Lord Ravencrest. They were considered by the Highborne to be of lower class as the members were not the elites, thus the two organizations envied each other. Before the outbreak of the ancient war, the Moonguard served Queen Azshara, but when the demmons of the Burning Legion came, it started to take up the role of the core of resistance against the Highborne. After the assassination of Lord Ravencrest, Lord Stareye took up the leadership and was killed soon by the Doomguard. The Moonguard, however, regrouped under the famous Jarod Shadowsong and became victorous against the demons.
Illidan Stormrage was once the personal sorcerer of Ravencrest and led the sorcerers of the Moonguard when they were against the Eredar.
