The Rune of Mazj can be found inside Molten Core, guarded by Shazzrah. It, together with the other runes in Molten Core, must be deactivated ("doused") in order to summon Majordomo Executus. The runes are deactivated one by killing the bosses that guard them.
Patch changes
Patch 3.0.8 (2009-01-20): Now doused automatically upon Shazzrah's death.
- Players previously required [Eternal Quintessence] or [Aqual Quintessence] in order to douse the runes.
