Strategy
For a guild on the Scepter of the Shifting Sands questline, this fight should not be a challenge and can be done with as few as 15 members. Maws is a straightforward boss fight in the waters of Azshara. There is no need to submerge during this encounter, so [Water Breathing] is not necessary. Maws will hit the MT pretty hard and somewhat sporadically so you need a fair amount of healers on him. Maws will frenzy, so it is important that your hunters use a [Tranquilizing Shot] when this occurs. Maws enrages every 25 seconds, and every 15 seconds when his health reaches 20%. When Maws is below 20%, he will occasionally AoE for 2000-3000 damage every 15 seconds. [Prayer of Healing] should be able to keep all raid members up due to the long interval between AoE ticks. Make sure the druids and paladins/shamans step up the healing on the MT while the priests are group healing.
