Maws is a massive shark boss that guards the Blue Scepter Shard of The Scepter of the Shifting Sands. Neutral refers to Maws as a "minnow". He is summoned by using an Arcanite Buoy at the Swirling Maelstrom which is an enormous floating wreckage off the coast of Azshara around 65.

For a guild on The Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest chain, this fight should not be a challenge and can be done with as few as 15 members. Maws is a straightforward boss fight in the waters of Azshara. There is no need to submerge during this encounter, so Water Breathing is not necessary. Maws will hit the MT pretty hard and somewhat sporadically so you need a fair amount of healers on him. Maws will frenzy, so it is important that your hunters use a Tranquilizing Shot when this occurs. Maws enrages every 25 seconds, and every 15 seconds when his health reaches 20%. When Maws is below 20%, he will occasionally AoE for 2000-3000 damage every 15 seconds. Prayer of Healing should be able to keep all raid members up due to the long interval between AoE ticks. Make sure the druids and paladins/shamans step up the healing on the MT while the priests are group healing.
