Beginnings

  +
You've arrived, and none too soon, <name>. Welcome to Shadowglen.
−

−
Trevalyan was born in the city of Andorhal to Roland and Carolyn Lightforge. The first of three sons, Trevalyan was raised with taking over his father's blacksmithing trade in mind. However, Trevalyan didn't want this and elected to become a farmer instead. His new friend Harold and his family had recently arrived with other refugees from Azeroth to the south, and he secured employment as a farmhand on the new farm they set up to the north of town.

I trust my sigil found you in good spirits and health?
−
After a few years, his father left to join the Order of the Silver Hand upon hearing of the Orcish fleet approaching Lordaeron. He took care of the family during this time. When his father returned victorious from the war, it was clear that his health was fading. His mother had died years earlier in childbirth with Trey and his two brothers had recently left to travel the world. Terias had gone south to study blacksmithing from a master dwarven smith in Ironforge, while Trey had joined the Silver Hand and traveled east to explore Kalimdor. He was the only one left home, so he stayed and cared for his ailing father.

As I said previously, I am here to train you as a <class>; to tame beasts to aid you in battle; to use a bow with unerring accuracy; to respect the lands which we call home and also the lands beyond.
−
After several years, his father died and he was left alone. He left his job at the farm to return to the city. His neighbor Melissa whom he'd known for a long time helped him with his grieving and before long they were married. He started his own small wheat farm just outside of town, and he and his wife had a son, Corrith. For ten years, he tended his farm and raised his son. Terias soon returned to restart the smithing shop, and life was good.

Trevalyan was out making a delivery of grain to Darrowshire with his friend and farmhand Elmand when the Scourge first came. The plague had been seeping into the town for months and the dead rose from the graves of the town's graveyard. Trevalyan returned to find most of town slaughtered, including his wife, son, and brother. Having nothing left, he fled the area before things became worse and headed for Kul Tiras.

He spent some time in Drisburg and took up the profession of crab fishing. The Scourge later attacked and he was forced to relocate to Boralus. There, he opened a restaurant. However with the prices of seafood constantly inflating due to the loss of a large portion of the crab fishers to the north, the restaurant made very little money at first, and quickly slid into debt. It went out of business and he was forced to pay off his debts with what savings he had managed to stockpile in the year he had lived on the island.

For years, he wandered the world living off the hospitality of others and his own senses until he met an Orc named Gram'shol in the Kalimdor wilderness. Gram'shol, after listening to his stories, convinced him that he must return to exact vengeance for the honor of his family. He soon found himself at the Northshire Abbey, where he decided to take up the mantle of the Paladin and return to the Plaguelands to take back his home. He abandoned his wandering and for a time settled in Stormwind near the Cathedral of Light.

For a long time, he returned to the Plaguelands to fight the undead as a form of training. The majority of his days he patrolled the countryside, slaying any Scourge he could find. The remainder of his time was spent near Andorhal, visiting the graves of his once family and attempting to rebuild some of what was destroyed (the undead in the area were very quick to undo any work he accomplished in this area). Eventually, he encountered Terias as he had also been visiting the graves. Initially he was going to attack, though Terias convinced him to stay his hand. Their conversations were very tense at first, as Trevalyan outright refused to trust his undead brother. In the course of them, Terias told him many things. Of importance were the fact that their youngest brother Trey had died across the great sea assisting the Night Elves in ridding their land of the demons and undead which plagued them. The other was that there were rumors in the Undercity that intelligence had been received of an imminent Scourge attack on all major mortal settlements.

Trevalyan knew what would happen after that. Though he still didn't trust the undead who claimed to be his brother, he spared him and immediately set out for Menethil, boarding a ship bound for Kalimdor. He first went to Darnassus and picked up the trail of his brother. It eventually led him to Shadow Hold, where he met a friend of his brother's. The two worked together to find the bottom of the dungeon and slay Rakaiah, a succubus. While the elf took the remains of the paladin back to Darnassus for burial, Trey's spirit had consented to allowing Trevalyan to keep his sword on the condition that he return it when he no longer needed it.

−
−
He then returned to Stormwind and waited. Terias' second piece of information also turned out to be true. It started just as it had before: grain infected with the plague began appearing. People began getting infected. He fought with the many who battled the invasion forces, but he wasn't very strong yet. Even with all of his effort, his contribution ended up being minimal compared to that of the rest. When King Wrynn, recently returned from his captivity, announced the plans for a counterattack, Trevalyan elected to forgo boarding a ship immediately and stay behind for a bit for additional preparation. When he felt he was actually up to par and ready, the war effort in Northrend had been under way for several months.

The Campaign

−
-----

−
−
He traveled to Valgarde. There he unexpectedly ran into Highlord Fordring in disguise whom he had met a year prior while scouring the Plaguelands wilderness. He immediately joined up with the Argent Crusade. He was assigned to Zul'Drak patrol duty. He performed this task admirably, fighting off the Scourge and Drakkari trolls for quite some time. Before long, the Crusade had set up shop in Northern Icecrown and he transferred to help with set up of the grounds.

−
−
The construction was completed soon after and the tournament got underway. He worked his way up through the tournament ranks to that of Crusader and completed all of the trials there. Satisfied at his performance, the higher ups granted him a command of his own (in which he was given free reign over the people under him) and he was assigned a young squire named Ethan Stonebreaker. He was unable to find anyone who wasn't already attached to a command though, so he was forced to request assignment to another unit. He was assigned to the Seventh Argent, and there he continued the fight in Icecrown while he trained his young squire in the ways of combat.

−
−
During the final assault on the citadel, he was assigned to hold off any reinforcements which might show up from other parts of the world. He never got to participate in the actual fight with Arthas.

Retirement

−
-----

−
−
Appearance
−
−
Trevalyan stands at 5'9" and is approximately 52 years old. His hard life of his vagrancy of the last few years have turned his hair grayer than a man of his age should have. His hair has grown long over the years, but since his resettlement, he has trimmed his beard down to a nice and manageable size. While out in the world, he wears his armor (shown in the picture), a brand new set of adamantium protective pieces which replaced the old and tattered armaments he had collected over the years. While relaxing in town, he normally wears a simple outfit of black and green cloth and soft leather.

−
−
He is muscular from his days of hard farm work, though his age has deteriorated his condition some. He has no tattoos or scars of any kind that are visible in public, though he does have a large mark on his shoulder from where a goblin mercenary's blade pierced it several years ago in Tanaris.

−
−
He is normally seen accompanied by Ethan Stonebreaker, a squire of the Argent Crusade whom he has agreed to train in the ways of combat.

−
−
Personality and Current Goals
−
−
At the moment, Trevalyan spends his time honing his skills and improving his strength. He can be found in Icecrown most times battling the undead and Cultist forces there.

−
−
He craves adventure for two reasons. First is his desire to destroy the Scourge; adventure provides him not only an opportunity to radically improve his strength and skill, but also to find new relics and techniques for this purpose. Second is the fact that when he was a young man, he stayed behind in Lordaeron while his brothers went off to explore the world, a decision he has always regretted and now wants to make up for in his old age. While he was still in training, he also dabbled with a group of explorers searching through ruins. Over time, he took up something of a passion for archaeology and has plans to study full time after he has retired from fighting.

−
−
In his old age, and possibly also out of regret for not taking paths in his youth, he took up blacksmithing a bit but found he was terrible at it and has given it up. Over the years he has kept a journal of his adventures. This, coupled with his interest in archaeology, has inspired him to study runes and language. He has become a scribe full time to supplement his income.

−
−
Trevalyan despises all things demonic, undead, and evil. As far as he is concerned, Death Knights can go straight back to whatever grave they crawled out of. He does not like them. He does not tolerate them. He doesn't even acknowledge their presence unless they attempt to speak with him, and then only long enough for him to dismiss them. He believes they have returned to the Alliance (and the Horde) as a part of the Lich King's plot to sow sleeper agents in the organizations. He isn't fooled for one moment.

−
−
He bears no grudge against the Horde, with the exception of the Forsaken. The Orcs were under demonic control when they attacked humanity and are no longer. The Trolls simply fight for survival, and the Tauren are honorable to him (and would be welcomed by him if they ever decided to join the Alliance). He has no love for the Blood Elves. He merely tolerates them as, though they were once part of the Alliance and there are still many honorable elves among the race, their growing addiction to fel energy is driving them to be more demonic.

−
−
Currently, he is enlisted with the Argent Crusade and has been promised command of his own regiment, should he be able to find enough recruits to fill its ranks. He seeks able bodied men and women, preferably of the light though he will take any LIVING being that has a passion for destroying the Scourge. (( Interested parties may drop him a mail in game, though finding and speaking with him personally is much preferred )).
