Outbreak is a new death knight ability that comes with Cataclysm, learned at level 81. It was first announced in the Cataclysm death knight preview.

Outbreak infects the target with both [Frost Fever] and [Blood Plague] at no rune cost. This ability allows death knights to apply diseases quickly when they are switching targets or when their diseases have been dispelled. Due to its one-minute cooldown, Plague Strike and Icy Touch will still be useful.
