Hearthglen is a town in the northern area of the former kingdom of Lordaeron, located north of Andorhal, in an area now known as the Western Plaguelands. The town (and formerly the region) was controlled from Mardenholde Keep. It is now controlled by the Scarlet Crusade.

Before the Third War, Hearthglen was ruled by the paladin Tirion Fordring, Lord of Mardenholde. He was, however, exiled for treason, for giving aid to an orc found in his lands, Eitrigg. The paladin Barthilas was temporarily given command of the province, but he was killed during an orc assault on Stratholme, and was not able to make his command effective.

Description
−
Hearthglen was a target of the Scourge in the beginnings of the Third War. The Plague of Undeath arrived there in a grain shipment from Andorhal. The city was about to be attacked by an army of undead, and the defenders had just baked and eaten the grain before the attack started. Prince Arthas tracked the shipment of grain to Hearthglen. He, along with soldiers of Lordaeron's army, were able to slay those infected by the shipment before they could spread the disease to the entire town. Shortly thereafter the large Undead army laid siege to the town. Reinforced by Prince Arthas and his armies, the town held off the undead long enough for the arrival of Uther and his knights. Ironically, it was the efforts of the future Lich King that saved Hearthglen and ultimately allowed it to survive uncontrolled by the Undead Scourge.

Tirion Fordring, fresh from the victory over the Lich King in Northrend, returns to Lordaeron to retake his old city from the remnants of the Scarlet Crusade. This is the fifth part in the six-part questchain Call of Water. Aqueous has worked out what the cause of the corruption is, and would like you to put an end to it.

Objectives

Bring the Inv misc head elf 01 [Head of Tel'athion] to Aqueous in the Hidden Reef at Bloodmyst Isle.

Description

I have determined where the corruption is coming from. It is the by-product of some demented research and you're going to put an end to it!

Just to the southwest of the Foul Pool is a small camp. There you will find the 'research' of Tel'athion the Impure. This is where he produces the filth that has been seeping into the island's water.

Use the pure water you obtained from Ashenvale to destroy his cache of barrels. That will be sure to bring him out.

We will have an end to this!

Progress

Have you succeeded?

Completion

It is done then! The crisis is averted and you have put in motion the restoration of the water on Bloodmyst Isle. Over time, the water, in conjunction with the other elements, will heal itself.

It is unfortunate that the blood elves cannot see that by contaminating their surroundings they're killing themselves off as well!

Reward

1850 experience.

Notes

Tel'athion the Impure is immune to interruption from Spell nature earthshock [Earth Shock]. He does around ~70dmg/sec for 5sec and his Fireballs and Frostbolts hit for around 120 damage each.
