Tactics Testimonials

  • Our group makeup was 70 pally tank, 72 ret pally, 71 elemental shaman, 71 holy priest, 70 rogue. What we did, was engage the groups in Hadronox's room and quickly take them down. When he engaged, we did not use any AE's (including consecrate). Heavy healing on the entire party, including the healer, was needed. Keep dps high, and adds piling up will add to the party's dps. We had our elemental shaman off-healing as well as dps'ing. Eventually most of the party died, just as the boss was killed. In our case, our two left were pallies, so a quick DI ended the event. Otherwise, you must dps down the adds.
  • As you wind your way down the web path, you'll see a Crusher Mob, with two small mobs. Tank the Crusher directly, aoe the little guys. After the first pack, two packs (at the same time) will descend of the same make up. Again, tank the Crushers directly, and Swipe/Consecrate/Shockwave-TC the little guys. After these packs are down, Hadronox will start to come up from the right. There will be a swarm of little bugs attacking him. Kill all of the adds with your various burst-aoe abilities, but make sure that the tank is the only one actually in there. Once Hadronox is in the main room the adds will stop coming. Once that's done, burn the boss down as quickly as possible while ignoring the adds as much as possible. The problem is that killing mobs, being poisoned, pretty much everything heals him. We fought him for 10 minutes before we figured out to leave the adds alone. Tanks should have a fairly large HP pool, and for heavens sake, bring someone that can cleanse poisons. -Warsong Aces, Feathermoon-H-US
  • When you enter the Hadronox web, there is a bridge you cross to a small circular platform. When you cross over there is webbing to the left and right you can go down. Below is a Anub'ar Crusher and two other adds. As you turn facing back to the bridge, make your way to the far left wall and down on the earthen platform there.
  • One two occasions, my group was able to engage Hadronox without any adds present. We did this by waiting until he had come all the way up in to the room where we fought the earlier trash. This may take some time, as he often moves very slowly. Eventually, when he had killed all the current spawns, he aggroed on us, on his own. We fought him in the "back" of the room by the ramp down. While you may have to wait a while, if you can pull him under these circumstances, the fight is much simpler. No adds spawning or joining the fray reduces the complexity immensely.
  • The easiest and most blatantly reliable method of the pull is not to pull in the first place. Sounds crazy? Try it. When you first reach Hadronox' Lair, move to the right side of the ramp down (as you come down it). Pull the group to where you are and kill the non-elites first. When the next two groups spawn, do the same with them - pull them to you and nuke the non-elites first. Now wait, you'll remain in combat, and there will be the occasional non-elite ad, but be patient. Hadronox will slowly make her way up the tunnel towards you and will continue killing the adds. She then webs up the paths that the adds are spawning from (there is an achievement to kill her before she does this) and will kill the remaining adds. As soon as they are dead, she'll come for your party, who should be ready. Spread out. Do not let any player die as they will heal her. She drops like a rock every time for our groups. Also, I say 'she' because she appears to lay eggs.

The Pull - Start by pulling the Crusher and two elites to the side. Kill them with the party near the wall. The crushers have a knock-up effect that is mitigated somewhat by the wall surface as it won't throw you very high. This starts the entire chain of events with Hadronox. Hadronox will begin coming up through the web and takes about 2-3 minutes before it gets topside.

After the initial Crusher is pulled, two other Crusher groups will appear where there was only one. If you want to play it safe, pull the closest to the same spot by shooting the elite closest to the party. This will prevent the other Crusher group from coming over as well. If you prefer to get it done, just pull both groups and AOE the little elites. Tanks concentrate on the Crushers.

The Boss - As the final crusher is killed, move the party back up to the round platform you entered the webbing at. Have the tank stay down just a little way into the webbing. Hadronox will be killing minions along the way. The best time to pull is when there are a dozen or so minions under it and they are poisoned. Have the tank shoot Hadronox and run back onto the round platform. This fight is extremely easy if you have someone in the group that can clean poison. Hadronoxs' main ability is called "Leech Poison" and it will hurt those affected (large AOE area) and heal Hadronox. Any healing done to a person poisoned also heals Hadronox so de-poisoning helps. If your DPS is high, you can probably dps through it but why put the effort in. Leech Poison is cast very often and lasts until nearly the next casting time. If cleansed, Hadronox doesn't get healed back up.

Fighting at the round platform also keeps further adds from coming up thus you fight only Hadronox and not minions as well.
