The Order of Mjolnir is a fairly well known Dedicated Raiding Guild on the Scarlet Crusade Server. It was founded many, many moons ago by the great, yet very silent Prot Warrior, Walathor.

It is pronounced Me-ole-near. Not Ma-jol-near, or Ma-jol-nir. It is Me-ole-near.

The term OoM is used to refer to the guild. "Grats OoMers" for example is perfectly accepted by the guild members, despite OOM's other uses.

Guild Information

General information about the guild.

General Statistic Things

The guild has over 200 characters with a good number of accounts and a solid raiding core of about 30 or so people. The guild's tabard is black with two red criss-crossing hammers. The guild bank is loaded with many shiny things, all of which are in the most restricted parts of the bank. The guild uses the EPGP system for loot.

About the Guild

The guild itself is a generally laid back and easygoing guild. People who screw up in the raid are not reamed in front of the rest of the guild, but usually silently reminded "Hey don't do that.". The guild's vent server is open to anyone in the guild and when not in use for raids is generally fairly active. Ranging from use from simply shooting of the breeze to the raids. Much of the mocking of fellow guildies takes place on the Vent channel. The guild chat channel and vent is kept "PG-13".

Recruitment

New members undergo a 30 day trial period, after which they then become a full member, entailing a few more bank privileges. From there, promotions occur based on how awesome you are viewed by the officers. This is not based solely on raid performance, many other things including but not limited to, raid attendance, showing up on time, being respectful, helpful, friendly, courteous to other guildies are take into consideration.

Currently, recruitment is highly restricted as gear is scrutinized so as to be relatively on par with the rest of the guild. There's also a bit of an age restriction.

Occasionally, applications can be forgotten about by the officers. Should this happen to you, don't despair! Talk to anyone of the following people in game to move things along: Seraphus, Gubner, Vyktom, or Walathor. You will know if your application got forgotten if you don't hear back within a few days. Give it about three to five days, then ask. Should you not see any of them on, do a /who The Order of Mjolnir and ask if any of them are on with one of their alts. OOMers tend to have their own individual naming conventions, which they follow fairly well. Look for similar sounding or spelled names in the /who as well. For example, the guild leader tends to have "Thor" in the name somewhere.

Guild Activities

The many and crazy activities of the guild. Currently, the guild dedicates most of its time to Icecrown Citadel.

End Game Raiding

The guild is dedicated to the refined art of end-game raiding. Currently, raids are routinely scheduled on Wednesdays through Saturdays, and sometimes scheduled on Sundays through Tuesdays.

  • Wednesdays and Thursdays are 10 man raids of the current instance, with TWO early groups leaving at about 7:00 PM Server Time, and a late group leaving at 9:00 PM Server Time.
  • Fridays and Saturdays are the current 25 man, with raids starting at 7:30 PM Server Time and ending at about 12:00 PM Server Time. VoA will be done on either of these days depending on who controls it.
  • Sundays are another 10 man of the current instance, reserved for mains who didn't make the earlier 10 mans and alts. The raids start at about 6:00 Server Time. Alternatively, one of the 10 mans from Wednesday and Thursday might opt to take another stab at it on Sunday.
  • Mondays are a cleanup day for any one the earlier three 10 mans, depending on sign ups and group decisions.
  • Tuesdays vary from week to week, but are generally nights off.

In all cases, sign-ups play a major role in deciding A: If the raid will occur at all and B: Where the raid will go. Raid times are selected, but actual destinations are not decided until later based on who has signed up.

On days that don't have enough sign-ups, it's usually a free-for-all on what goes on. More often then not, 10 mans and battlegrounds happen.

Getting into raids

More often then not, the guild has enough members, sometimes, more then enough, to fill the 25 man raids, so very rarely are non-guildies required to fill up raid spots. The best way to secure a spot for a raid is to SIGN UP for the raids (requires membership), and to NOT sign up an hour before invites go out. The guild uses the phpRaider program on the guild's homepage to manage sign ups and is user friendly.

PvP

PvP activities are never scheduled, and usually happen when boredom sets in and bored OoMers wishing to relieve their boredom will organize a premade into any of the Battlegrounds. The guild is usually know for winning or putting up a hell of a fight when they go in together. There are also several arena teams that are composed entirely of OoMers.

Notable Members

The list of OoMers is long and distinguished. This is but a small and tiny fraction of the many great and awesome people within the guild. Many of these people are also officers, and are usually readily available to answer questions pertaining to membership within the guild.

Walathor: Protection Warrior, Main Tank and kick-banging (albeit quiet) guild leader and founder.

Seraphus: Master of the Raids and butt kicking Shadow Priest.

Vyktom: Secondary Master of the Raids and Tanking Death Knight.

Jenzon: Resident nuking Shaman, and Guild Wowwiki page maintainer.

The Four Horsewomen of the Apocalypse

The Four Horsewomen of the Apocalypse are a terrifying force to behold. On their own, they raise enough hell for an army, when working together, not even High Overlord Saurfang could stand up to them. Their names are shrouded in no mystery and are spoken in not whispers by all:

Charrona, the Horsewoman of War

Abrienna, the Horsewoman of Conquest

Reyna, the Horsewoman of Famine

Kristl, the Horsewoman of Pestilence

They are a valued and loved part of the guild, bringing laughs to the most grim members in the most wipe happy times, nevertheless, they are to be feared and respected.

The Four Horsemen of Oh sh--

Should you see these four death defying men, know this: You are screwed.

Morphus the Horseman of Chuck Norris

Walathor the Horseman of Destruction

Seraphus the Horseman of PAIN

Solavin the Horseman of Flowers and Rainbows
