Template:War

The Alliance-Horde War is an intercontinental war which is the pivotal act of the expansion set World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria.

Background

The feud between the two factions dates back to thirty years, and has seen many wars and battles, but since the end of the Third War, a tacit cold war has settled itself.

Though shaken by minor skirmishes over the past few years, peace managed to be relatively maintained until the treacherous dreadlord Varimathras staged a coup to claim Undercity, killed hundreds of both Alliance and Horde soldiers, and painted the Horde as responsible by appointing Grand Apothecary Putress for this attack. Enraged by the loss of Bolvar Fordragon, Varian Wrynn assaulted the Undercity to destroy Putress and reclaim Lordaeron for the Alliance. Though the Horde managed to reclaim the Undercity, Varian was enraged to see the depravity the Forsaken were allowed to conduct in the city and lashed out at Warchief Thrall and the Horde. Tensions rose when the Horde's supplies began to deplete following the costly toll of the Lich King war and the subsequent barring of the Horde from Ashenvale and the night elves' trade routes. With the previous warchief, Thrall, leaving the Horde to tend to his duties as a shaman, his predecessor, Garrosh Hellscream, led the Horde to expand into Alliance territory to attain the resources his people so desperately needed.[1]

Following the massive Cataclysm that shattered the world, both factions fought an all out war for the limited resources available in Azeroth. Since the fall of Deathwing, without another looming threat, the war expanded into a full scale war spanning all across Azeroth.

Conflicts

Kalimdore

Theramore will be destroyed and the leaders of Alliance were outrageous at this matter and completely devote themselves into the war, which reach its peak on the continent of Pandaria.[2]

Pandaria

The war eventually spread to Pandaria. Its peace was shattered as a result of the conflict.[3]
