Forums: Village pump → Warcraft lore → Who will be the new Lich King
- From the Halls of Reflection:
- Uther the Lightbringer says: There is... something else that you should know about the Lich King. Control over the Scourge must never be lost. Even if you were to strike down the Lich King, another would have to take his place. For without the control of its master, the Scourge would run rampant across the world - destroying all living things.
- Uther the Lightbringer says: A grand sacrifice by a noble soul...
- Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Who could bear such a burden?
- Uther shakes his head.
- A bit based of The Flying Dutchman ain't it?
- So, who will be this noble soul?

It's obviously Cairne, that's why Baine replaces him in the expansion. --Pcj (T •C ) 21:44, November 13, 2009 (UTC)
- I think sylvannas will take over the Scourge... who better to free the undead (and restock her army) then an undead queen. (Sssss/Slithered) 21:45, November 13, 2009 (UTC)
- On the Alliance side it could be Gelbin Mekkatorque, a gnome Lich King would be non-menacing so it would probably be a safe choice. --Pcj (T •C ) 21:48, November 13, 2009 (UTC)
- You know, I've never really thought about it until now... I'd say Varok Saurfang. Second place goes to Sylvanas. However, I think she'd try to destroy the Scourge instead of control them. I can't see Cairne (or any other tauren, for that matter.) as the Lich King.
