::In my opinion, being insane or wanting to destroy everything like mad doesn't make you a good villain: you're just chaotic and don't care about anyone. Those characters don't tend to try to rule the world or make plots. So, the only ones I feel are good villains are the Lich King and Sargeras and, since the LK is a bit weird these last days, and that we know there's only Arthas now, Ner'zhul, the great plotter, is no more, so Sargeras is my choice. The possession was too much, and I don't think someone who can make such plans is insane at all. --Lon-ami (talk) 20:04, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

At first, i would say the Old Gods, because i think they're cool, survived fighting with the Titans, created the Curse of Flesh, C'Tun made the Qiraj, and Yogg-Saron corrupted Loken, and his Titanic Watchers. And together with the other Old Gods, they corrupted Deathwing, and i think that they're behind Malygos' madness and The Nightmare. And maybe behind the Infinite Dragonflight (All of this could easily be their work).

  +
But, because i couldnt vote on both C'Thun and Yogg-Saron, i decided to vote for Kil'Jaeden instead, he corrupted the Orcs, created the Lich King, and later used Illidan in an attempt to destroy the Lich King, so from my point of view, hes responsible for 3 out of 4 of the major Factions in the Warcraft Universe, he was one of them leading the Orcs thought the Black Portal, then he created the Scourge with the Lich King in command, and then lead Illidan to power, motivating him to find the Naga, recruited the Blood Elves, and ally the remaining Brokens... However, he lost control of all of those, but still, he nearly created them, and thats cool... and too, he made Kael join him, and was then summoned to Azeroth by him.

The Lich King has always been my favorite villain, ever since I saw this. He is one of the most mysterious figures in lore, and his outcome at the end of the expansion is questionable. He also leads the mysterious Scourge. His Frostmourne alone is richly filled with lore. He is definitely my favorite WoW villain. () 04:38, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Lich King for epic armor, weapon, and voice, lore too, (yes same as person above.) :Yeah, he's cool but I feel guilty for killing him. I mean, he tried being good and we kill him. Arthas slaughters half the eastern kingdoms and we try and save him. Forums: Village pumpWarcraft lore Who is your favorite major villain (and why)?

As the faction leader one, but with major villains. I'd have to say my favorite is Archimonde. Come on, just look at what he did to Dalaran (and see also Inv misc coin 17 [Archimonde's Gold Coin] for laughs). INV Misc Orb 04Xavius, the Satyr Lord 12:29, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

My favourite villain is Archimonde, I like his role in the War of the Ancients. However, I also favour Illidan and Queen Azshara.Dakovski (talk) 14:29, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
I guess I might go for Deathwing, given recent revelations. The dude just won't die! Kirkburn  talk  contr 18:27, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Deathwing for me too. Evil, powerful, scheming, mysterious, and seems to have his claws into alot of things. I hope they open up Grim Batol and we get to see Deathwing directly. I hope they don't treat Deathwing like poor Malygos. --Gengar orange 22x22Beware the sneaky smile! Fandyllic (talk · contr) 5:00 PM PST 11 May 2009
Do i really have to say it? Deathwing.Warthok Talk Contribs 04:09, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Yep gotta be Deathwing, though not cause he is so evil, cause he is so INSANE! lol i've read every book on WoW and the stuff Deathwing does, even little things? reminds me of Megatron from transformers, or Visser Three from Animorphs... Originaly it was Illidan, but someone had to go and kill that beautiful anit-hero... *sigh* Max Krist (talk) 08:31, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Seems I started something by mentioning Deathwing ;) Makes me wonder how spoilery these forums should be - but I suppose if you come to WoWWiki, you gotta expect to read news (except for our brief novel waiting periods). Anyway, Night of the Dragon is much of our source here. I've not finished reading Arthas: Rise of the Lich King, so my opinion may change. Kirkburn  talk  contr 17:31, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Deathwing is, of course, awesome, but I'm not proclaiming him my favorite until I see what his next move is. Scheming is good, putting your schemes to good (read: evil) use is another thing. INV Misc Orb 04Xavius, the Satyr Lord 17:42, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
I'd favor Kil'jaeden myself, but I notice that Gul'dan isn't in the poll... He's only my second favorite anyway (tied with Azshara), but I thought I'd point that out.--Ragestorm (talk · contr) 21:20, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
OMG, can't believe i forgot Gul'dan! He so needs to come back and have an ultimate face off with Ner'zhul. They always had a great rivalry but at the moment seems Ner'zhul has won hands down, which is unfair to the greatest warlock ever...(lol forgot to sign) Max Krist (talk) 00:26, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
I've always maintained that Illidan should have been possessed by Gul'dan, and that's how he should have come back- BtDP implies that some part of Gul'dan is still inside the Skull.--Ragestorm (talk · contr) 00:42, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
The reason Gul'dan isn't in it is that I'm only including independent, major leaders. Gul'dan went from serving Kil'jaeden to serving Sargeras, as far as I know. INV Misc Orb 04Xavius, the Satyr Lord 08:00, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
I disagree, i don't think Gul'dan is the type to ever really "serve" someone else, he's too self-centred. Sure he played along with the big demons cause he was scared of them, but he always planned on becoming more powerfull then the lot of them, i think God status was very much in his master plan... too bad those demons in the tomb got to him first... Oh and i think Illidan is to indepenedent to be merely a possessed puppet, though Ner'zhul vs Gul'dan in Arthas and Illidan's bodies would be an epic battle... Max Krist (talk) 12:14, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
Gul'dan never served anyone explicitly. Though he was ultimately a pawn in the games of Kil'jaeden and Sargeras, he had significantly greater control over affairs than most other "minion" characters.
My point about Illidan being possessed is that it would have been an explanation for his insanity--Ragestorm (talk · contr) 14:15, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Unindent. I like the Old Gods because even though Blizzard always is shouting 'They're evil! They're evil!', it is still very easy to see things from their point of view.[1]--SWM2448 20:09, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

hmmm, i fail to see how leaving everything in it's complete and utter chaos is a good thing... Though the titans certainly can come across as arrogant in "ordering" the worlds... Max Krist (talk) 12:53, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
