Forums: Village pumpWarcraft lore What is wrong with Thrall?

He reappoints Trade Prince Gallywix as leader even though Gallywix is a despised traitor to the goblins who enslaved them and teamed up with pirates. All the goblins are shown as hating him and yet Thrall makes him leader. Copperblast (talk) 03:24, July 6, 2010 (UTC)

IMO it's because Gallywix hates being leader himself, and, as a strange form of punishment, making him leader is worse than throwing him in a jail cell somewhere. Saberd of The Shattered Sun 03:29, July 6, 2010 (UTC)

Gallywix never says he hates being a leader, infact he hates having his power questioned. A major reason he hates the player is that there were rumors the player was going to run against him in the next election and he knew no one would support him. Copperblast (talk) 03:31, July 6, 2010 (UTC)

Given the quotes... and the fact that Thrall is no longer in charge of the Horde, sounds like he welcomed them to the Horde leaving the goblin leader as the leader for now, and he even wasn't too sure with that decision, but what can he do.... The trade prince is the trade prince, he can't just give command of a cartel to some random goblin. It's not something he can decide on. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! Trade Princes are democratically elected as shown by the starting zone and Gallywix is hated by the goblins, a goblin in the escape pod even refers to him as a monster. Its also implied several goblins in the shipwreck and mines. Copperblast (talk) 03:45, July 6, 2010 (UTC)
Didn't know Thrall was a goblin... Like I said, nothing Thrall can do about it, now if the goblin people did decide to rise up and change leaders.... SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 03:47, July 6, 2010 (UTC)

Lands of Mystery, page 75, clearly states "The goblins certainly don't elect their trade princes, nor are the positions hereditary; the trade princes killed, blackmailed and schemed their way to the top." I wonder why Blizzard changed it. I also wonder what happened to the other four now that their capital city allegedly exploded.--SWM2448 03:50, July 6, 2010 (UTC)

Thrall should've killed him right there just as he did to his minions, it makes no sense for Thrall to appoint a hated despot to a position of leadership. Thrall should think about all the lives that were lost when Gallywix was Trade prince before. I think one the writers is a rabid Alliance fanboy or on a lot of drugs. Lands of Mystery is highly outdates and even Dark Factions has been wrong, goblins have a booming ka'jamite business.
