The high elves, or quel'dorei ("children of noble birth" in Darnassian and "high elves" in Thalassian), are a race descended from the Highborne night elves who left Kalimdor and settled in the Eastern Kingdoms, founding Quel'Thalas.

Please advise what standardization you want to use on this website, and where to locate such standardization guidelines so that I may use them for future uploads.
The high elves of today, drastically reduced in population, generally cling onto the Alliance. A portion remained out of Quel'Thalas after King Anasterian Sunstrider seceded the nation, while Alleria Windrunner took a few choice rangers to Outland with the Alliance Expedition. Following the conversion of the race from quel'dorei to sin'dorei, a number of rangers spoke against the regency of Lor'themar Theron and the methods of Grand Magister Rommath, and were exiled south to what is now known as the Plaguelands.

In consequence, there are so few high elves left on Azeroth today that they cannot be considered a race in anything other than the biological sense. High elves do not gather in any significant numbers, nor do they act as a coordinated whole. They are a very small group of individuals scattered all over the world. As such, they do not have common opinions or goals. Indeed, modern high elves cannot even truly be said to have a culture--only a past filled with glory and regret. and forsaking the night, the high elves are the descendants of the very elves who served Queen Azshara in the time of the Well of Eternity. The kaldorei regard the high elven penchant for using arcane magic as careless, akin to a foolish child playing with fire. The schism that separates the Highborne elves and the night elves is rather ancient, one so ancient that no amount of diplomacy or offerings of peace can soothe the scars of history. The high elves, however, have had generations separating them from the night elves, and no longer care for the past. Problems between the two races are usually clashes of personality, as neither tries overly hard to interact. The arrogance of the high elves led to the War of the Ancients and ultimately to the downfall of the golden age of elven civilization. Through the reckless use of arcane magic, the high elves allowed darkness to seep into the world and corrupt Azeroth. They use the genetic phenomenon that modern elves face as testament to their views.

:::Provide the item names and I might remember them. -- 23:55, August 21, 2010 (UTC)
Arcane magic is a powerful drug to the high elves, and it can be a lure to a dark and perilous path. Yet too many wield it as if they were doing no harm, and few but the oldest and most sage can recall the true reasons why the use of such magic is a dangerous and potentially damning practice. Regardless of the risks, some high elves press onwards to revel in the euphoria and power that the use of magic brings them. The high elves are a tragic example of a race in decline. Their centuries of arcane practice have led them into an ever-tightening downward spiral. Now there are few true Quel’dorei left. Most have gone with Kael'thas Sunstrider to become the blood elves, and in doing so have allied with the sworn enemies of elvenkind, the naga. Now the scant remaining Quel’dorei are typically those who have embraced the Light and seen past the powers of arcane magic and darkness. Distrusted by almost all of the races, the remaining high elves are pariahs in an age when there is little left for them but a life of mistrust and woe.

When the night elves adopted druidism, they outlawed the practice of arcane magic. The use of its dangerous powers was punishable by death. However, many Highborne loyalists of Queen Azshara survived the Sundering and grew restless. They suffered from magical withdrawal, and 7,300 years before the invasion of the Horde through the Dark Portal, they spoke against Malfurion Stormrage and the Druids.

  +
::::::If I remember correctly, cause this has been a while... you were first naming them something like staff and dagger, very generic names like that. Then you were asked to be more precise with the names, which is why you starting naming them very precise names. 02:02, August 22, 2010 (UTC)
Dath'Remar Sunstrider, the leader of this movement, declared the druids cowards for refusing to wield the arcane. Malfurion and the druids warned the Highborne that any use of magic would be punishable by death. Yet, in an attempt to protest the druid’s law, Dath'Remar and his followers unleashed a terrible magical storm upon Ashenvale.

Re: Your edit summary comment
The druids could not bring themselves to put so many of their kin to death, so they decided to exile the reckless Highborne from their lands. Sunstrider and his followers boarded a number of specially crafted ships and set sail upon the seas. By now the Highborne were glad to be rid of their conservative cousins and free to practice the arcane with impunity.

As you said: A music video about gold farmers doesn't count.
None knew what lay beyond the Maelstrom, but they eventually found the Eastern Kingdoms and formed their own magical realm. They abandoned the concepts of Elune and nocturnal activity, embracing the sun instead. They would soon become known as the high elves.

Foundation of Quel’Thalas
Sunstrider led the high elven fleets across the world for many long years. Their goal was to find places of considerable ley power for them to build their new homeland. After landing on the Lordaeron continent, they moved inland and formed a settlement in the Tirisfal Glades. After a few years, however, many were driven insane. The belief at the time was that something evil slept beneath the Glades, so the high elves abandoned the region and moved northwards.

Around this time, they had become completely severed from the life-giving energy of the Well of Eternity. This meant that they were vulnerable to the elements and had not received immortality from Nozdormu and the World Tree. They had shrunk in height and their skin had become a peach hue similar to most dwarves and humans. The high elves soon discovered primitive humans, but associated little with them. The forest trolls of Zul'Aman, under the Amani Empire, posed the greater threat to their society. The elves soon grew to hate the forest trolls and they fought each other whenever they met.

After many more years, the high elves discovered a land in the northern forests which suited them, and founded the kingdom of Quel'Thalas. Unfortunately, they would learn that Quel’Thalas was founded on a sacred and ancient troll city. The trolls began to attack the elven settlements en masse in retaliation. Although the Amani outnumbered them ten to one, the elves utilized magic to its fullest effect and defeated the trolls.

Some elves, wary of the kaldorei's warnings, created a protective barrier around Quel’Thalas which allowed them to continue their magic without attracting the Burning Legion’s attention. To do this, they employed a series of monolithic Runestones.

Soon, Quel’Thalas became a shining monument to high elven prowess. It was crafted in the same style as the halls of Kalimdor, with the addition of integrated magic and a brighter colour scheme. Although they did not worship it, a great respect was maintained for nature. The high elves were careful to interweave their cities and architecture with their natural surroundings, creating a truly beautiful and tranquil land.

To sate their hunger for great magical power, the high elves created the Sunwell. It became the source of their power as the Well of Eternity had been in Kalimdor, although the Sunwell was much weaker, and the elves were forewarned of the dangers. As the high elves became more powerful, they cast an enchantment on the forests that bathed Quel'Thalas in eternal springtime, in defiance of the kingdom's location on the extreme north of the continent. From that point on, all high elves had access to the Sunwell's powers from anywhere on Azeroth. Over time, the high elves came to regard the Sunwell's waters as holy. Magic became part of their genes centuries before, but the Sunwell's unique energies became part of them acutely.

Tell me what you think about it.
For nearly four thousand years, the high elves remained relatively at peace. But while the elves established their nation, the Amani plotted their next assault. 2,800 years before the First War, they unleashed it upon the high elves. The Troll Wars ignited. Suffering loss after loss, the high elves turned to the humans of Arathor for support. The two formed a military alliance in exchange for the instruction of 100 humans in arcane magic. Together, they crushed the Amani; an empire that had endured for more than twenty thousand years. Humans and high elves have cultivated this alliance ever since.

  +
14:54, August 29, 2010 (UTC)
The high elves also established relations with the Ironforge Dwarves to the far south, when the human nations of Gilneas and Alterac encountered them more than a thousand years later. The two races had no special bond and tended to distrust one another. When allied, it was through their common ties to the humans.

  +
Non-Enchanting Enchant Tooltip Syntax
Yet 230 years before the First War, the dwarven race split into three factions (See War of the Three Hammers). The Wildhammers desired to open up trade with the high elves, considered taboo at the time, and would serve as one of the catalysts for their war. When it ended, the clan became close allies to the high elves. The two races were united through a mutual appreciation for nature and other cultural similarities. They would soon become each other’s closest friends within the Alliance.

  +
While Enchantments with the type "Enchant", such as Enchant Weapon - Icebreaker, display a proper tooltip when moused over, Enchants of all other professions (properly following nearly the same syntax on the Embroid template) display only "no tooltip" error on mouseover. So, Leatherworking's Fur Lining - Stamina or Blacksmithing's Socket Bracer generate no tooltip, although their template syntax seems to be correct.

  +
Is there a different term or syntax on either the link or item page to make the mouseover tooltips display properly? I can't seem to find a recipe listing page where the Embroid type of tooltip works correctly. Thanks!

Peace in Quel’Thalas continued for almost three thousand years until the Second War. The orcish Horde came through a portal from the world of Draenor at the advent of the First War, and defeated the Kingdom of Stormwind. They then brought ogres into Azeroth, and allied with the goblins and forest trolls, turning their sights on the north. The high elves only helped out on a small level in the First War. After the humans were defeated and fled north through Khaz Modan, the dwarves sent emissaries to meet with the high elves and humans to discuss the threat of the Horde.

When the humans proposed an Alliance of their seven nations, the Wildhammer and Ironforge dwarves, the gnomes, and the high elves, the elves were honour-bound to join it due to their ancestral connection with Arathi, of whom Anduin Lothar was the last pure-blooded scion. Under Anasterian Sunstrider, they were the least enthusiastic of the alliance and put forth only a token army.

However, the orcs' northern campaign, in which the trolls were meant to take back their ancestral homes from the high elves, managed to burn down the borderlands of Quel’Thalas, slaughtering many high elves in the process, and corrupting the Runestone at Caer Darrow. This enraged Silvermoon, which promptly pledged its full support to the war. The Horde eventually splintered under internal political pressure, and the Alliance charged southwards to crush it. The Second War was won.

In the aftermath, some high elves blamed the humans' poor leadership for the burning of their forests. King Terenas of Lordaeron reminded them that nothing of Quel'Thalas would have remained if not for the hundreds of humans that gave their lives to defend it, but nevertheless, the high elves largely abandoned the Alliance. Alleria Windrunner, sister to Sylvanas, and a cadre of her elven rangers remained loyal to Alliance High Command, but they were eventually lost on the other side of the Dark Portal. Her sister Vereesa also advocated continued support to the Alliance after the Grim Batol incident, but Anasterian was not swayed.

Years later, the Scourge came forth. Its commander, Arthas Menethil, obliterated the leading nation of Lordaeron and then turned their sights on Quel’Thalas. Their goal was to revive a human man named Kel'Thuzad, who could summon the demon-lord Archimonde into Azeroth. To do this, they required a source of considerable ley magic, and chose the Sunwell.

The high elves were still recovering from their grievous injuries at the hands of the Horde, but faced the Scourge in battle regardless. This time, there would be no human army to rescue them. The high elven army, lead by the Ranger General Sylvanas Windrunner, made counter attacks every time the scourge advanced. Despite their tactics and magic the elves were pushed back from the outer, to inner elf gates. Finally Arthas and his army, as well as new banshees, including Sylvanas, advanced on Silvermoon and crushed the defenders. Anasterian himself was killed by the Scourge.

The Sunwell was used to resurrect Kel'Thuzad, and fouled with evil in the process. The Scourge then set about to commit genocide on a massive scale. Only about ten percent of the entire race survived. Some of them were lucky enough to be away from their home at the time (many were housed at Dalaran and others had already fled with Jaina), but the majority of them survived only by defending themselves or hiding.

Soon, Dalaran, with the second greatest concentration of high elves, was destroyed as well. Dalaran's defeat was swift and complete, and most of the high elves there died under Archimonde's attacks. Other elves died afterward from bandits that came to sift through the wreckage.

Splintering
The surviving elves were somewhat scattered, until Kael'thas Sunstrider, son of the deceased Anasterian, began to organize them by reclaiming every last elf on the Eastern Continents. Under his leadership, they took the name blood elves, to remember the death of their bethren. The blood elves account for the vast majority of the high elves' previous population.

Per Kael'thas' instructions, some blood elves started slowly rebuilding Silvermoon. Around 15% of the newly-named sin'dorei, led by Kael'thas himself, started traveling throughout the land in order to find more surviving elves, and to find a source of magic to replace the Sunwell. The elves were suffering from great withdrawals after being cut off the Sunwell because of its destruction. Due to the unreasonable orders of the Alliance leader Garithos, Kael's people were forced to ally themselves with the Naga and fled to Outland. They soon joined Illidan there, and he in turn taught them how to sate their hunger for magic by feeding on alternative sources (having himself suffered the same withdrawal for thousands of years). The blood elves began to hunt and use Demons in order to steal their powers, merely using them as tools.

The blood elves who did not travel with Kael'thas to Outland allied themselves with the Horde through their connections to the Banshee Queen Sylvanas Windrunner, now leader of the Forsaken. Although the blood elves harbor very little trust for the Horde, they also have come to hate much of the Alliance — humans (and to a lesser extent dwarves) in particular. Their relationship with their ancestor race the night elves is not flourishing, but they are not dire enemies either, as distance between their locations has meant less contact between each other and fewer situations to arise that would cause fighting.

A few high elves have chosen to join the Alliance in recent years, but the Alliance as a whole remains somewhat suspicious of high elves to this day. The high elves' secession from the Alliance during the Second War left bitter memories. Furthermore, the night elves, who became part of the Alliance during the Third War, saw it as their duty to warn their new allies against the high elves. The Highborne's part in bringing about the War of the Ancients figured heavily in the night elves' retelling of high elf history.

Those who stay one step ahead of the trolls survive; those who do not are dead (and probably eaten by the cannibalistic trolls). Scourge patrols, hunting the elven refugees, also stalk through the land. Deep within the Hinterlands, the high elves of the Quel'Danil Lodge have their sights set on forming diplomatic alliances with other members of the Alliance.

Since the fall of the Lich King, the high elves' bane is no more, and seem to be taking a lesser role in world affairs. Well that's a shame, it was possible on wowwiki, but I won't pretend to know enough of this sort of thing to claim it should be possible here. Only that it detracts from the usefulness of even having a guild page featured here if looking for it will be so counter intuitive. :It seems like I was unclear. It works like this:
High elves stand slightly taller than humans do. A high elf is usually a little over 6 feet in height and weighs between 100 to 175 pounds, depending on gender. The elves are slim, with sharp symmetrical features, often an exaggeration of perfect beauty. The high elves are uniformly fair in complexion, with white to flaxen colored hair. Their eyes are incredibly intense in color, seeming to glow with an inner light. While many high elves have blue or green eyes (ex. Alleria), violet and red are not unheard of. The structure of high elven eyes (based on artwork) shows that they are generally like humans with a pupil and iris surrounded by "white", but tend to be able to see much farther than humans are capable. The life span of high elves is several hundred years. They reach adulthood at 110 years, a "venerable" age at roughly 350 years, and most dying of old age at approximately 263 years. A few may reach "venerable" age at roughly 350 years with maximum lifespan between 354 and 390 years, and even fewer may live as long as two thousand years. Most high elves (especially those of the Alliance) do not wear red or black for fear of being mistaken as blood elves. They have shorter ears and much smaller, lighter bodies than night elves. ::::My friends and I specalize in getting 16 slotters out to all the nooblets, (Netherweave Bag), and if it didn't care if you had all 4 or not, then that would severely gimp all BOE. Since most high level people will have all 4 slots filled, it wont matter for them, but I don't like the idea of a BOE bag becoming bound when you acquire it, without letting you have a chance to sell it or give it to another character. For instance (even though I doubt this would occur for me), if you were a tailor who strenuously leveled up to 350 tailoring, made some Netherweave bags specifically to sell, even though you don't have all 4 bag slots filled... would it force them to be bound to you? Sraw (talk) 07:36, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
High elves have white, red, orange brown, black, and blonde colored hair and fair skin, most have brilliantly intense sapphire coloured eyes that glow (at least in World of Warcraft). In World of Warcraft high elves have blue, sapphire glowing eyes (but have more variation according to lore, including green eyes). The blood elves typically have only green, emerald glowing eyes to show their magic addiction and their newly acquired addiction to fel magic.

  +
:::::Non-BoP does not mean BoE. Non-BoP also includes bags that won't bind to you, such as Small Blue Pouch. Note that it also says loot, not obtain or get, which are two different things. -- 07:45, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

::::::Non-BoP means specifically that it isn't BoP, but it could be BoE or nonbinding. Automatically equipping nonbinding bags is all well and good, because you can simply unequip it and pass it along. The distinction on loot and obtain though, that changes everything. I guess I didn't know that the particular wording on that was that important, as it appeared to me to be an interpretation rather then a quotation. Thank you for clarification. In World of Warcraft, the high elves closely resemble blood elves appearance-wise (they in fact share the same model, although High Elves have blue eyes as opposed to the green eyes of Blood Elves), but their voices are more mild-mannered like those of night elves (in the game, they use the same voices as Night Elves, although unsuitable lines, such as "Elune'adore", "Ishnu'alah" or "Goddess watch over you", are not used). Taela Everstride at Allerian Stronghold even says, somewhat bemusedly, "No, don't feel bad. I get that a lot... I'm a high elf, not a blood elf. Don't worry, I won't suck the magic out of you." However, other than greeting voices, high elves and blood elves do appear to share similar voice emotes in-game, particularly during combat. Before World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, in game high elves used modified night elf models.

nowrap
The destruction of the Sunwell has forced the high elves into decline, causing them to doubt the future of their once-proud race and drawing animosity toward them from other races who feel that the high elves have betrayed the Alliance. Most of the high elves have placed themselves under a self-imposed exile, ashamed of the damage that they have wrought upon the world of Lordaeron with their abuse of arcane magic.

  +
Without span formatting such as :template:nowrap there are window sizes where the gold piece symbol is line-wrapped to below the 5000. using the CSS in the template prevents this.
While humans still accept the high elves because of the aid that both races provided each other during the most recent attacks of the Burning Legion, reinforcing the same bond that they had in both the Troll Wars and the Second War, many of the other races will only deal with the high elves if absolutely necessary. This is especially true after the acts of Kael’thas Sunstrider. The night elves in particular do not care for the company of high elves (as they have personal memories of the war that spawned them) and in some cases can be openly hostile toward their sun-blessed brethren. The passing of time may heal these wounds, but the use of arcane magic will always draw a rift between these two breeds of elf.

It would not quite be correct to say that the high elves rejoined the Alliance. To many high elves, they never left. Nevertheless, they are often aloof and distant from their allies. They keep to themselves and enjoy wandering forests alone or in small groups. They also maintain the Quel'Danil Lodge, an outpost in the Hinterlands which pursues their diplomatic interests and Quel'Lithien in the Eastern Plaguelands near the gateway to ruined Quel'Thalas.

  +
:: I noticed it, since I often use my widescreen monitor with two windows open, each using half the screen. Regardless of the effect on tables, the same thing happens in paragraphs even at much higher widths; without nowrap, the number can be at the end of one line, while the symbol is at the beginning of the next line.
High elves in Stormwind copy the humans' style of long-sleeved tunics, billowy trousers and leather boots. Many High elves avoid wearing red clothing, as to dissociate themselves from blood elves. They have also set aside a day of mourning for high elves to remember the destruction of Dalaran with their human friends.

  +
:: The best solution with respect to the cost template (and related templates) would be to add "white-space:nowrap;" to the css in the template (which I can't do for the cost template)
  +
:: Regardless there are other times when nowrap can be handy, such as infoboxes or other situations where split-information might be confusing.

High elves were once strong worshipers of the Holy Light, but this has died down as many have rejected it in favour of arcane magic. Although after the invasion of the Scourge and the break off from the blood elves, many have looked to the Light, they do so loosely and are much less devout than humanity. High elven Priests are common. The high elves have made significant contributions to this evolving religion, which originated from human cults. Hi there.
Faith
High elves who embrace the path of religion take on the mantle of the Holy Light, sharing in the same faith as dwarves and humans. While this philosophy does not penetrate deeply into high elven society, those who do follow the path of the Holy Light are much more approachable than most. Many also take on a druid-like philosophy regarding the world and nature. The difference being that the high/blood elves view magic as being an integral part of the universe, as it was created by the Titans and is as natural as nature itself; the Well of Eternity formed naturally on Azeroth and created the elves in the first place.

  +
Recently I changed the naming convention on the two Worgen articles to make the default one relate to the playable faction, with the other being Worgen (lore). I asked about doing this on IRC <small>(approx. half way down the page)</small>, met no objections, at least one person was in favour of it. Personally I'm a big fan of lore - I'm not biased against it - but I do expect more people to be interested in the article on the playable faction than reading up about the lore behind them as a species (or sub-species, whatever).
Combat
High elves are proficient in archery, divine and arcane magic, as well as swordsmanship. They use guard towers for defense, and their armies take advantage of their natural strengths and typically serve supporting roles when working with other races. The high elves had a special affinity with dragonhawks before the Scourge attacked Quel'Thalas. The dragonhawks would often serve as flying mounts for the elves, but since the high elves abandoned their homeland, they have had to live without these creatures, who remain in the hands of the blood elves.

  +
I wanted to leave it like that for a few days to see if I'd be met strong opposition on-wiki (as previously stated, I met none at all on IRC) and if that wasn't the case I was going to request community input on the same being done universally so that Worgen wouldn't be the exception. Having tried to get input before the move(s) - you may notice I was given assistance by an Administrator, and not the same one who encouraged me on IRC, either - I decided to give it a shot. It lasted all of twenty minutes before I was reverted wholesale by you.
Magical addiction
  +
While I've lurked on Wowpedia / WoWWiki for forever and a day, I'm far from actively contributing, so I'd like to know how I could have improved upon this to perhaps be more successful with future endeavors. Two administrators seemed open to my idea, not a single person disagreed with it, and then you reverted. Why? With an Administrator assisting me and so I can only presume thus at least semi-in favour of the idea, there would have been a consensus for the change at that time. I wouldn't be that disappointed, but you were in the channel at the time I asked for feedback, you didn't comment on it, while Mikk did - providing positive feedback. Hell, you were actively talking in the channel!
All high elves, regardless of class, status or upbringing, are addicted to magic, and all have some small proficiency in it. Unlike blood elves who succumb to it, high elves actively fight their addiction and are required to meditate at least an hour every day to maintain personal control. The high elves are not proud of this addiction, and take pains to keep it a secret. Being close to Moon Wells will satiate the addiction, as will the use of certain magical items, though it should be noted Night Elves do their best to keep high elves away from the Well and magical objects that provide the same result are rare.

  +
The way I read it there's two people (myself and Mikk) in favour of the idea, with Foxlit probably supporting it, and while you dislike it enough to revert it (without a talk page message or edit summary that I can locate) you didn't seem to dislike it enough to talk to me on IRC. It's nice to have input on ideas you're considering and not quite as nice to be reverted without a single word of advice on what to do differently. Why you would let me go ahead with it only to revert me, which is more work for you as well as me, I cannot fathom.
If a high elf resorts to feeding off something else to sate the addiction, then they cross the line from high elf to blood elf. Contrary to popular belief, magical addiction is not fatal in and of itself (the only elves who have actually died from withdrawal were either elderly, very young, or already ill).

  +
For the life of me I can't see what I did wrong. Before I began I got a consensus - a majority in favor if you dislike my idea (you've yet to say so) - and my efforts weren't seen worthy of a single edit summary or a courtesy message on my talk page? I understand there are uninformed edits that need to be corrected but it never hurts to have the courtesy to at least talk to the people who are editing in good faith. That you simply protected the page against future moves by non-Admins in the future - also without a reason attached - rubbed salt in the wound. I won't start an edit war about it but I'm quite tempted to ask for feedback - again - this time on-Wiki and seek to have your revisions undone.
Some have found a way to block the symptoms of withdrawal by the use of Sunwell Rings.

  +
I'll try one last time to get your input on this before considering if I raise another discussion on it or not, though I do wonder if you'll bother to talk to me this time. OK, I'm probably going to look like an idiot for asking this, but is there a list of icons that I can see when creating a new items page so that I can choose the correct one right off the bat? I'm sure there is a much easier way than typing "|icon=INV_Plate_Legs_01" then hitting the "Preview" button, then changing the number and previewing until I finally the correct item icon to use. Hey there, just wanted your opinion on something - the Lor'themar article (specifically, the shadow section) deals with some major character building (and what little character building he gets, in brutal honesty), and for that reason it's a little difficult to cut down on it too harshly - the story itself was a fairly long piece of writing dealing with his actions and thoughts quite intimately. For that reason, I'd love to know if there's any particular areas you feel I should cut out, as the quality itself would suffer with the main points already outlined. == Quick deletion without discussion ==
  +

I’m quite disappointed that you chose to almost immediately remove the new category “Pacifist” that I added, without any discussion of it’s value to the community. There is a tiny, but growing, sector of WoW players who are running characters in the pacifist mode and I think providing information relevant to that play style would fit in well on Wowpedia.
  +
  +
While the two pages I’ve created so far would fit in a guides category as you suggested, the function I intended when creating the new category (as I discussed on the talk page of the now deleted category) included much more than that — especially the adding of quests suitable for pacifists to the category (which would not be appropriate in a guides category).

Please consider reinstating the category or explaining why I’m wrong.

Gem changes in Cata
I notice you were responsible for moving or redirecting (= deleting) gems that were changed, renamed or removed because of stat changes in Cataclysm. I was wondering if you were working from a master list you could share with me. I still need to update the various jewelcrafting designs pages to match and I've been unable to find any definitive list of name / colour changes, or when two gems now share the same stats which one was kept. I could slowly work it all out, but had a full list it'd certainly be faster! Thanks for your help :) --W.woods (talk) 02:28, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Hi Gourra,

  +
I’m continuing my research (on WoWWiki and WoWPedia) this summer and hope to interview several of the core contributors about their experiences. Would you be available for an interview at some point this summer?
  +
  +
I also wanted to share an article of mine about WoWWiki that was recently published; you can find it linked to from my user page (happy to send you pdf, if you like). For the most part it talks about the writing processes of the community and how members work well together because of shared attitudes and beliefs about writing on a wiki. If you have any questions or feedback, I’d love to hear it.

* Undead High Elves who died before the blood elves split from the high elves seem to generally go to the Horde, as seen with Sylvanas Windrunner, the Dark Rangers, and Koltira Deathweaver.

  +
Any reason for =\ over ;\? Because if you can't have colon, at least equals is not unintentionally winking?
* High Elves only had a minor appearance in the original World of Warcraft. A small faction - Silvermoon Remnant, was planed to be implemented but never made it into the Live Servers. It is most likely this faction that inspired the Silver Covenant.

  +
Also, is there a policy about references looking like this [1] versus this[1]? (space vs no space)
* High elves were widely speculated to have been a playable race choice for World of Warcraft, though Caydiem mentioned in a Blizzard post why this never occured - the total high elf population being incredibly low. The Horde would receive their biological equivalent, the blood elves, around this time.

With the recent... issue on the Scourge page, I think it may be smart to do the same that was done with the Alliance and Horde pages. Some people can be stubborn about how their edits are done. File name standardization schema

Gourra:

Several months ago, you advised me to be more specific in file names when uploading, yet today, you truncate the filename back down to what I was using before.

Please advise what standardization you want to use on this website, and where to locate such standardization guidelines so that I may use them for future uploads.

Ariule (talk)

I believe that describing the background and the race of the character is a bit too much
Just naming the file like the item (eventually followed numbers if we use multiple screens) seems fair enough.
IconSmall Hamuul Loremaster A'noob, Arch Druid of the Noobhoof Clan (talk/contribz) 21:54, August 21, 2010 (UTC)
When I was doing just the item name a year ago, I was informed that it was not enough, especially when other items of kit were in the image. In addition, several images were deleted due to the thought that I was using an offline image editor. Does WoWWiki have a file name standards page that people can follow? It would be helpful if there was.
Ariule (talk)
Provide the item names and I might remember them. --g0urra[T҂C] 23:55, August 21, 2010 (UTC)
I am unconcerned with the past file names, I am wishing to set a standard for moving forward.
Ariule (talk)
As A'noob said, naming the file like the item is enough. --g0urra[T҂C] 00:29, August 22, 2010 (UTC)
If I remember correctly, cause this has been a while... you were first naming them something like staff and dagger, very generic names like that. Then you were asked to be more precise with the names, which is why you starting naming them very precise names. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! As you said: A music video about gold farmers doesn't count.

If you don't consider that a music video, then I don't know what to say. --g0urra[T҂C] 13:47, August 24, 2010 (UTC)
I mean about the part that it doesn't count. --ENG (talk) 13:58, August 24, 2010 (UTC)
A music video that jokes about gold farmers doesn't count as research about the subject. If you have a video about someone who has researched about the subject then go ahead, but a music video is not proper. --g0urra[T҂C] 14:02, August 24, 2010 (UTC)

Rearranged many parts of the gold farming page, added some links to researcher sources. Still needs work. No comment on applicability of "music video" about gold farmers, though apparently Ge Jin has made documentary video (which I did not link to, but which may be available through the links I did add. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 22:54, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Non-Enchanting Enchant Tooltip Syntax

While Enchantments with the type "Enchant", such as Enchant Weapon - Icebreaker, display a proper tooltip when moused over, Enchants of all other professions (properly following nearly the same syntax on the Embroid template) display only "no tooltip" error on mouseover. So, Leatherworking's Fur Lining - Stamina or Blacksmithing's Inv jewelcrafting thoriumsetting [Socket Bracer] generate no tooltip, although their template syntax seems to be correct.

Is there a different term or syntax on either the link or item page to make the mouseover tooltips display properly? I can't seem to find a recipe listing page where the Embroid type of tooltip works correctly. Thanks! Joeartguy (talk) 21:00, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

It's still talented since you need to choose a talent to get it. Having an ability only in its class' ability category would imply that it's not talented. --g0urra[T҂C] 07:39, October 12, 2010 (UTC)

I recently undid a change on the Server: Kil'jaeden US page... Someone uploaded and posted an inappropriate picture there, and I thought you would be best to deal with it... I deleted the offending image. If you see any more vandalism, you could join the #wowpedia IRC channel and alert any admins about it. --g0urra[T҂C] 22:02, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

Vanguard of Valor

I created the page today, and you changed the title, which is of course fine! But if I now do a search for 'Vanguard of Valor', I get no results, which is kind of counter productive for the page's validity. Is there any sort of solution or will people have to actually search for guild;vanguard of valor? Saranini (talk) 10:09, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

There's a guild search on the Guild article. The default search does not include the guild namespace. --g0urra[T҂C] 10:35, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

Well that's a shame, it was possible on wowwiki, but I won't pretend to know enough of this sort of thing to claim it should be possible here. Only that it detracts from the usefulness of even having a guild page featured here if looking for it will be so counter intuitive. People generally know what a guild is so I doubt many actually have the reflex of first looking up what a guild is before looking up an actual existing one. Just adding this so maybe in future you guys would consider changing that, but it is what it is and I'll live with it. Saranini (talk) 10:44, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

If it was possible on the WoWWiki search then this must be a bug. I'll look into it. --g0urra[T҂C] 10:48, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
Not necessarily a bug, not necessarily working by design. I think it's just a config tweak, but I don't really know if we want to make it. --Sky (talk) 12:45, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

Bags and Cataclysm

"In Cataclysm, bags that you loot and are non-BoP will be automatically equipped instead of taking up an bag slot."

I read this on an article (that you modified, to add this) and was wondering if any of the following applied:

1: You meant Non Binding
2: You meant "If you don't have 4 bags already"
3: "If its better than a current one"
4: It is BOP

You must agree, that if something is BOE and you loot it, and equip it, you automatically bind it to your character, making it impossible to give BOE items to alts, and essentially, making BOE into BOP. (Listing a source might be good too, if you don't know the answer yourself) Sraw (talk) 05:55, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

It seems like I was unclear. It works like this:
 1. If you have a bag slot (not inventory slot) free and loot a non-BoP bag, you will automatically equip it
 2. If it's a BoP bag you'll still get a dialogue but automatically equip it after agreeing to pick it up
 3. If you have no bag slots left, the bag will be in your inventory
 4. You'll still be able to un-equip the non-BoP bag by dragging it from your bag row.
I hope that cleared it up. --g0urra[T҂C] 06:14, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
Still confused, because apparently if its BOE, you will bind it to you if you have a free bag slot open. Thanks for the other clarification though Sraw (talk) 06:38, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
Well, the likely hood that you would encounter a BoE bag before filling up all your bag slots is rather low... they don't start binding until what? 18 slots? a few 16 slotters? SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 07:03, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
My friends and I specalize in getting 16 slotters out to all the nooblets, (Inv misc bag 23 netherweave [Netherweave Bag]), and if it didn't care if you had all 4 or not, then that would severely gimp all BOE.
Non-BoP does not mean BoE. Non-BoP also includes bags that won't bind to you, such as Inv misc bag 09 blue [Small Blue Pouch]. Note that it also says loot, not obtain or get, which are two different things. --g0urra[T҂C] 07:45, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
Non-BoP means specifically that it isn't BoP, but it could be BoE or nonbinding. Character Table Box

Hi - just wanted to say thanks for having the Character Table Box on your page which I shamelessly stole (giving you kudos of course). Let me know if you wanted a bigger credit, though. --Aldor Celuur (Talk page | Contribs) 04:44, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

No problem, I'm glad you like it. --g0urra[T҂C] 12:03, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

nowrap

Without span formatting such as template:nowrap there are window sizes where the gold piece symbol is line-wrapped to below the 5000. using the CSS in the template prevents this.

So, instead of sometimes seeing: 5000g you always see: 5000g

I.E., even on a narrow screen, the second 5000g will never wrap in-between the number and the symbol. I would further argue that the cost template should have said css added to it. —MJBurrage(TC) 00:17, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

I resized my browser window to check when this would be the case, and the lowest resolution where it wouldn't break was at about 900 pixels wide. I don't think that many users browse articles with that small resolution. --g0urra[T҂C] 00:22, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
I noticed it, since I often use my widescreen monitor with two windows open, each using half the screen. Regardless of the effect on tables, the same thing happens in paragraphs even at much higher widths; without nowrap, the number can be at the end of one line, while the symbol is at the beginning of the next line.
The best solution with respect to the cost template (and related templates) would be to add "white-space:nowrap;" to the css in the template (which I can't do for the cost template)
Regardless there are other times when nowrap can be handy, such as infoboxes or other situations where split-information might be confusing.

Thanks

Your table format attributed accordingly *grins* (no actual user pages were harmed during this shameless rifling through the code). Sorry for locking you out whilst I looked up profiles and such... Tequima (talk) 15:12, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

(playable) v. (lore)

Hi there.

Recently I changed the naming convention on the two Worgen articles to make the default one relate to the playable faction, with the other being Worgen (lore). I asked about doing this on IRC (approx. half way down the page), met no objections, at least one person was in favour of it. Personally I'm a big fan of lore - I'm not biased against it - but I do expect more people to be interested in the article on the playable faction than reading up about the lore behind them as a species (or sub-species, whatever).

I'll try one last time to get your input on this before considering if I raise another discussion on it or not, though I do wonder if you'll bother to talk to me this time. A F K sig 2 A F K When Needed 21:55, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

If you're going to raise a discussion then do it on the forums and raise a vote. We'd rather not try making these decisions on IRC. --g0urra[T҂C] 21:59, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Because it would give the appearance that it could be an in-game quest, YMMV. By the way you shouldn't use , questbox automatically does the categorization. --g0urra[T҂C] 17:26, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Icons

OK, I'm probably going to look like an idiot for asking this, but is there a list of icons that I can see when creating a new items page so that I can choose the correct one right off the bat? Everything written about Gallywix was a huge part of the starting zone

Play through it, watch a youtube video, or read about it before you put [citation needed] on every word. And If you still don't believe me somehow, heres some lines from Rosenberg.

http://www.dailymetagame.com/Articles/ArticleDetail/tabid/68/ArticleId/65/The-Portal-The-Greedy-Goblin-Gallywix.aspx

"Then Deathwing wakes up and causes chaos. Mount Kajaro, the dormant volcano on Kezan, erupts. Panic ensues. There are those that lose their heads in the chaos – most likely killed by the pirates hired by Gallywix himself to ransack party guests in order to add to his own wealth – and there are the cartel bigwigs such as yourself. You all keep yourself calm, you loot enough money to pay the fee that Gallywix is charging for you to get on the only boat off the erupting island which he obviously owns, and you look like you are going to safely escape."

"You're a big hero...and Gallywix hates it! He was afraid of you claiming his title, which the Cartel was already considering removing from Gallywix, and now you showed him up in front of your new allies. He claims that he will get revenge, and storms off in an escape rocket before the rest of you."

"Of course, Gallywix, who has proven himself to be a tremendous failure as a leader and as backstabber, will be thwarted by you in the later quests that conclude the Lost Isles storyline. He continues his dirty tactics, enslaving survivors of the Bilgewater Cartel and even attempting to kill Thrall. Even during your climactic showdown against Gallywix, he tries to fight you off until it appears he is going to die." Copperblast (talk) 16:49, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Festive Teal Pant Suit

Noticed you changed a number of items, this one among them. Your change rearranged tooltip lines, and removed a mode entry, along with vendor and sell lines. I am pretty sure the item is still sold, so I'm wondering which of these changes were intentional and thus why you made the change. Would you enlighten me? --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 23:39, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

{mode} is no longer required in tooltips, and vendor and sell lines does not stay when you update items with the script. --g0urra[T҂C] 07:06, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
Kinda guessed that would be the case. Whose script is it? (Where is it?) If it is killing vendor/sell because it is completely rewriting the tooltip, SOMEONE must be maintaining it. And I can only imagine that a more elegant script would be possible that merely removes the mode tag without having to rewrite the rest of the tooltip entry. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 21:08, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Not necessarily RemovedFromBeta

I've been going through a few Mt Hyjal quests, and I've found something curious... On or about November 20, 2010, you went through these quests (presumably with a bot) and at least for the two quests (so far) that I've found, the first reward item was properly categorized, unstubbed; the other items were marked "removedfrombeta". Similarly, a quest item for one of the quests was incorrectly marked "removedfrombeta". Most recent quest: Get Me Outta Here!

At this point, only you have a hope of knowing the scope of this error, or of finding a way to repair the damage in a mechanical way. I'll continue re-marking things as I go, but that's a ponderous route, and prone to missing things. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 21:35, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

I marked them as removed from beta since I didn't get those quests when I was in the area, or some didn't follow the updated chain of quests. Since then I've heard reports that some weren't removed and people are welcome to revert the changes I did. I didn't bot anything, not sure why you think that. --g0urra[T҂C] 21:49, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
Thought you had because it was unusual for one item of a set of quest rewards to be marked stub (or not stubbed), but for the others marked "removed". It seemed more likely a program sort of error, is all. Er, and not so much the QUESTS 'removed', as rewards. As well, I've run across at least one "bi-faction Hyjal quest" with different reward items per faction. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 22:21, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

You should wait for people to finish what they're doing before starting to revert everything... and read the commentaries before continuing with the removals: http://www.wowpedia.org/index.php?title=Template:Orcs&curid=94448&action=history

So, please, revert cleanup, replaced: Orcs → Orc clans from all those clans with the bot until we reach a decision.--Lon-ami (talk) 10:15, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

Lor'themar

Hey there, just wanted your opinion on something - the Lor'themar article (specifically, the shadow section) deals with some major character building (and what little character building he gets, in brutal honesty), and for that reason it's a little difficult to cut down on it too harshly - the story itself was a fairly long piece of writing dealing with his actions and thoughts quite intimately. For that reason, I'd love to know if there's any particular areas you feel I should cut out, as the quality itself would suffer with the main points already outlined. Grissom (talk) 14:20, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Quick deletion without discussion

I’m quite disappointed that you chose to almost immediately remove the new category “Pacifist” that I added, without any discussion of it’s value to the community. There is a tiny, but growing, sector of WoW players who are running characters in the pacifist mode and I think providing information relevant to that play style would fit in well on Wowpedia.

Thanks. —Nagrand (talk) 09:52, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

Right now I see two blogs, and one forum thread about a player who decides to be a pacifist, which makes it hardly notable. The quests, abilities etc. that you consider "pacifistic" could be added to your pacifist guides. Didn't mean to step on any toes, but consider it. --g0urra[T҂C] 09:59, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

Problem with AutoWikiBrowser

Hi Gourra! I'm an administrator of Grand Theft Encyclopedia, a Wikia wiki dedicated to Grand Theft Auto saga. I'm writing this message because I have a problem with AWB, and reporting this in the Wikipedia discussion I notice that you had the same problem (here your report) in the past. By this reason I'm talking with you. Do you finally find any solution to this f**** bug? --Myself (talk) 20:46, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi! Why don't reply me with my problem? --Myself (talk) 23:04, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
I'm not sure why it started working suddenly. Either it was the version of AWB (make sure you have the latest version), or it was the URL. Double-check both. --g0urra[T҂C] 23:18, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Dragoflight footer template

I don't consider it particularly appropriate for you to swoop in out of the blue and not only revert my user-talk page, but to lock it for a month so that I cannot clean it up, clarify the text, or even respond! Would like to interview you

Hi Gourra,

I’m continuing my research (on WoWWiki and WoWPedia) this summer and hope to interview several of the core contributors about their experiences. Would you be available for an interview at some point this summer?

I also wanted to share an article of mine about WoWWiki that was recently published; you can find it linked to from my user page (happy to send you pdf, if you like). For the most part it talks about the writing processes of the community and how members work well together because of shared attitudes and beliefs about writing on a wiki. If you have any questions or feedback, I’d love to hear it.

Thanks for considering this. If you're interested in participating, you can contact me here via email <tinyurl [dot] com/5ug7gqq>. Dakhma (talk) 14:38, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

Editcount Special Page vs. Editcount Template

Have noticed a discrepancy in count when examining the Editcount speical page for a user compared the editcount template. As of this entry, your count is off by more than 3k.
This is of course a completely trivial item on the task list of things to investigate, but wanted to make you aware of it. Ariule (talk) 23:21, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

I'm well aware of that it differs a lot. Probably has to do with that I did edits on Wowpedia before the final data merge was done. --g0urra[T҂C] 23:23, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
That would also explain why my and Howbizr's numbers are off as we were all on-board back on the other site as well. Ariule (talk) 23:34, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Dragonspawn RPG

I saw that before the only reason i didn't add the rpg info is because they are actually in wow(dragonspawn with the same name in wow) so it's not exclusive to the RPG, and those 3 articles need to be slightly redone.--Ashbear160 (talk) 13:46, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

But only Scalebane and wyrmkin, the only mention i can found in wow for flametongue is Baleflame --Ashbear160 (talk) 13:49, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

Scalebane may be in WoW, but there's not WoW info on the article. The RPG description of wyrmkin differs a lot from how they are in WoW. --g0urra[T҂C] 13:52, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
I can add wow info in those articles but it will pretty insignificant
"Wyrmkin are a type of dragonspawn, with breasts and slender figure and shorter snouts, with a proficiency for Spellcasting"
"Scalebanes are a type of dragonspawn, with a more figure robust and longer snouts, usually armoured for close combat"
This of course is all observations from wow, we can't just make the whole article non-cannon when they exist in wow, of course this will probably dwindle to Wyrmkin=Female Dragonspawn scalebane=Male Dragonspawn--Ashbear160 (talk) 14:02, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
I'd prefer that you provide citations instead of observation. --g0urra[T҂C] 14:03, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
I literally just looked at the models, and saw their skills (and skins...), however this discussion should be continued on RPG forum thread i posted a section there for these mostly rpg but still in wow articles--Ashbear160 (talk) 14:18, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

I've also gotta ask Gourra, how is it the older version better than the current version? just saying it's better without pointing out any reasons for being better it's a bad argument.--Ashbear160 (talk) 15:04, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
Shorter names that is more to the point. Organization sections that makes more sense to the average reader (storm giant under giant). --g0urra[T҂C] 15:20, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
And what of the points i made? are you just going to ignore them in favour of a broken system?
And the fact that storm giants are a organization inside the "titan" organization(or team titan like someone else said) is that going to be ignored to?
I'll also cite Lon-ami because what he said before illustrates why the previous version didn't work
I think Organization/sandbox is better than the current version. Current version is simply wrong, because we repeat headers (races) and we can't classify multiracial organizations properly. A hierarchy is the way to go, imo.--Lon-ami (talk) 12:07, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
At least before being set to vote the older version should be put under a sandbox and corrected.--Ashbear160 (talk) 15:32, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

Alliance and horde organizations

If goblins had their own Goblin organizations article why can't the alliance and horde have their own considering it's bigger?--Ashbear160 (talk) 15:04, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

You basically just made a link to another article and removed the whole article. It would be better to use a main link to the Alliance organizations, while keeping the "main" organizations under the Alliance one - replacing a section with just a link that says "Hey, if you want to see any Alliance organizations, follow this link" is not the right approach. --g0urra[T҂C] 15:25, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
Ok then what of my suggestion to keep the member states in the main article and the smaller sections of those member states in the alliance organizations? i'll do a small edit just to show how it would look.--Ashbear160 (talk) 15:36, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
Like i've just done, if you like it tell me and i'll make the other 2 articles, if you've got problems revert it to the previous version and tell me what's wrong.--Ashbear160 (talk) 15:48, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

The same in the Fire hawk that i have been applying to all pages like it due to how good it is, and i think coobra came up with it, they are notable because they stand out from others by being a character rather than a mook--Ashbear160 (talk) 18:46, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

"Paladins as Tanks" article

Hi, I noticed your numerous changes to the above article, and while I appreciate them, I had flagged in my user page that a rewrite of this article was a project I was working on. I'm not complaining that the article has been made more correct, it just feels like my toes have been stepped on a little. :-/ Calm Mind (talk) 08:02, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

No worries mate, not sure if I did the right thing in flagging it as a project on my user page anyway to be honest, I'm fairly new to editing around here and not completely au fait with how it all works! Have people already pre-picked projects that they are working on, or is it just a case of noticing that something needs a rewrite, flagging it up and getting on with it? Not really, there aren't any such projects at the moment (as far as I know). My own projects are things that I've been working on, and quite frankly not what people are comfortable to edit. --g0urra[T҂C] 17:28, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Mists of Pandaria

In theory, anyone could do a search of the United States trademark registry and see that the trademark has been filed. Personally, I question the need to have them at all. They're full of speculation on who is in charge of whom and serve mostly as just pointless lists of every single member of that faction ever. Obsolete sets

Heya! Notice you've been "removed from game"-ing obsolete sets and set items as appropriate.

Thought I would point you to here. Why? Because I notice you have not been removing the /includeonly categories from the set pages (eg: The Elements). If the #data:itemtip format suddenly makes those start working again, the items you removed from categories will suddenly find themselves in categories again.

If that is as you intended, then no worries. If not, you should be aware of it as you continue working on sets, and probably remove those references as well. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 23:30, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Levels

How is it redundant to put "levels" as plural? You're talking about a range of levels (i.e., 20-60), not a single character level (i.e., 85). Tycerius (talk) 12:28, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

You say "level one to sixty", not "levels one to sixty". You could also say it as "level one to level sixty". If it was "1-60 levels" then yes it would make sense, but it doesn't in this case. --g0urra[T҂C] 12:32, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
"Level one to sixty" or "Levels one to sixty" could be used interchangeably depending on how the person says it. It could also be phrased "levels 1 and 60" or "from levels 1 to 60." But I will leave it be for the time being. Thanks. Tycerius (talk) 12:48, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
Please see this article. Unless the word "of" precedes the range of values, the standard is to write it as plural (no matter how you might say it otherwise). Therefore, it should be changed back. Tycerius (talk) 10:58, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
So, can I proceed to switch "Level" back to "Levels" in the article? Also, why did you choose to remove the inline citations for the BC and Cataclysm Patches at the end? Tycerius (talk) 02:44, 11 September 2011 (UTC)
Sure, bring back to "Levels". The inlines weren't necessary as they are, in fact, the Burning Crusade patches. The 4.2 note should be removed, though - the note can be put at the top. --g0urra[T҂C] 17:18, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Slantyface Template

Any reason for =\ over ;\? Because if you can't have colon, at least equals is not unintentionally winking?

Also, is there a policy about references looking like this [1] versus this[1]? (space vs no space)

Pelf (talk) 04:52, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

The = in =\ is for the eyes. ;\ doesn't look like the emoticon. This[1] is preferred as it doesn't create any unnecessary spaces. --g0urra[T҂C] 11:03, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
