:::::::::Moving along, I look forward to more lore expansions in regard to Tauren Druids, it's really nice to see any type of lore expansion with the other races after so many years. [[User:Revrant|Revrant]] ([[User talk:Revrant|talk]]) 08:08, September 23, 2009 (UTC)

::::::::::I apolgize if i was rude but actualy this was a CM not a GM, whom have considerable more access to production staff as weve seen with Netharea. It doesn't to me if you agree or not, trying to convince other people who aren't open to it is impossible, but more importantly completely unnesseary. Not to meantion you've already agreed with me in that they are right until contradicted, yet that's what got you upset. But don't try and turn this on me, anyone with a lick of sense can see you are the one who has allowed this change to upset them, you should take your own advice, which is comicly enough the same advice i just gave you. For future reference i'm not defensive of this particular CMs statement, i'm simply strongly bothered by offhanded dismissal of information inconvient to people who put their personal wishes above the truth, and my record at this wiki can speak for that. I just don't understand why you are making an issue out of something that isn't. The change is made, i dont care either way but apparently the new direction is the way you perfer it, so what's the problem? No one did anything wrong here, not me, or blizzard, at least not anything that hasn't been done countless times for the sake of improving the story, something we both agree this change is doing, and i'm looking forward to seeing where blizzard takes this come Cataclysm. If your fishing for an apology i would try their forums, not that i think they owe one.{{User:Warthok/Sig}} 09:33, September 23, 2009 (UTC)

:::::::::::Not really, they have less access in other areas, from what I've seen they can pass the questions along and get responses where GMs can't. I am ''thrilled'' with this change, not upset by it, obviously given how aggressive you became I think it does upset you. I posted here for jubilation, not nattering about retcons and downplaying, I considered it a celebratory revelation that is now officially muddled. I'm "fishing" for your ceasing this unpleasant direction, I don't ''accept'' apologies and I don't ''give'' them unless they're warranted. You'll excuse me if I don't have the appropriate lures. Forums: Village pumpWarcraft lore Tauren Druids

Xarantaur, well, after the drama years ago and all the GM nonsense which I believed to be false but accepted as true, it is not "flavor lore", and there he is, living, immortal proof. I have to say I'm surprised it is true, Blizzard usually places a lot of importance on the purple people, thoughts on this revelation? --Revrant (talk) 10:03, September 21, 2009 (UTC)

Are you asking Xarantaur? If you are, you should use his talk page.--SWM2448 22:33, September 21, 2009 (UTC)
I don't believe he is, see Xarantaur#Trivia. Kirkburn  talk  contr 00:32, September 22, 2009 (UTC)
No, it was continually shot down that Tauren were the first Druids, and GMs stated the story itself was "flavor lore", Xarantaur is a reversal of that GM opinion. Revrant (talk) 05:55, September 22, 2009 (UTC)
They aren't saying he isn't. Read carefully, Kirk is responding to Sandwichman. And yea this isn't new, i'm not sure whats left to say.Warthok Talk Contribs 06:14, September 22, 2009 (UTC)
I see, no opinions at all then? For the past what? Eight years? We had the Night Elves placed as the first, countless people viciously defending it, GMs shutting down lore indicating it isn't, and then a complete lore reversal showing everything said was in fact true. Revrant (talk) 11:59, September 22, 2009 (UTC)
I'm not actually seeing where it 'confirms' tauren druids were first. Kirkburn  talk  contr 12:37, September 22, 2009 (UTC)
Actualy Revrant, at the time they were right. Now they no longer are. Two years from now we may be discussing how the Earthen surpassed the trolls as the first druids. It's a retcon, and it's been quite a few months so i think it's settled into everyones minds thus why your not getting much of a reaction.Warthok Talk Contribs 15:47, September 22, 2009 (UTC)
Xarantaur confirms the "flavor lore" as the GM called it, Kirkburn, he predates Malfurion, and it isn't a retcon, previously Malfurion believed himself first and so did the Night Elves, the Tauren believed themselves first. A GM, who had no access to the knowledge necessary to either confirm or deny the information, denied it, and people considered it settled.
I just find it interesting that they decided to go with the Tauren when expanding on this point. Revrant (talk) 04:24, September 23, 2009 (UTC)
Revrant you are no one to decide what is and isnt a retcon. The information at the time was valid. It no longer is. That's a retcon, it's really not up to interpretation. I get the feeling you may have taken it too personaly.Warthok Talk Contribs 04:48, September 23, 2009 (UTC)
Yes, I am, I can look at something and say it isn't a retcon, and there is no interpretation, Malfurion and the Night Elves believed themselves to be, Cenarius never said they were, no one but they did, it was not validated by anyone but a GM who had no more authority on the matter than I do, so obviously they were wrong to be so black and white about something they had no jurisdiction over. Revrant (talk) 06:25, September 23, 2009 (UTC)
Fact is you are making assumptions about what the GM knew and internal communication at blizzards headquarters, something you know nothing about. I don't care what you tell yourself, but the GM does have an official capacity, that you and i lack. If it realy bothers you then you need to take it up with blizzard, but it seems you didn't come here looking for a discussion, but rather to give yourself an excuse to vent, one of the reasons i approached this post with caution. If you really want to hear what i have to say it's this: Get over it, whats done is done, and it won't be the first or the last time. I don't understand why people allow themselves to get so worked up over percieved biases of factions/races.Warthok Talk Contribs 06:34, September 23, 2009 (UTC)
Fact is you're being extremely petulant for no reason, GMs generally have no such authority or understandings, I had a friend who was one for three years before moving up in the company to where he is now and he, for damn sure, did not have contact with any authority when answering those types of questions. He did anyway, or to the best of his ability, and that's all a GM can do, they are right until contradicted by higher sources however, which they often are. I wasn't bothered by it at all, but given how you've become highly defensive of the GM position and aggressive about labeling the change a retcon I can see it does bother you. If this perceived "change" upsets you so that you need to vent about the change and write it off as a retcon then so be it, but I don't agree. Needless to say getting yourself all a flutter over it isn't beneficial to the discussion, get over it, the story has progressed, and has gone to a better place.
