So the new raid looks like the Crusaders' Coliseum (lame IMO), and we get a new battleground that sounds like a revamp of AV, so I hope that there will be another raid added.--Noabr (talk) 21:13, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

I think that The Crusaders' Coliseum is Magisters' Terrace 2.0 with encounters for groups/parties of all sizes. The 'new battleground' sounds to me like the initial pitch of siege weapon PvP recorded here long ago (Link may be broken). Looks like Deathy will stay in hiding for a while longer.--SWM2448 21:33, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
No mention of ammo changes that were delayed from 3.1 Frowney User:Coobra/Sig4 19:22, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
So how exactly can the Coliseum be a raid? The most likely way in my opinion is if you face waves of NPCs, like in the Violet Hold or something. Inv misc orb 04Xavius, the Satyr Lord 07:39, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
I hate the whole idea of an Argent Tournament. First of all, why hasn't Arthas razed it to the ground. Secondly, why do they need to have a contest to see who gets to kill Arthas? Moreover, they're wasting lives and time with this, while Arthas rests and builds an army. It sounds like Blizz is out of ideas until Icecrown Citadel. lol i totaly agree, with all the speculated raids everyones mentioned from Uldum to Grim Batol, they build a stadium and say that'll do? lame Blizz, lame... Max Krist (talk) 23:37, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
I think the idea is that we're training for the big battle with Arthas. You could use the razing argument for almost all the encampments in Icecrown, but the Argent Tournament is a little bit special in that it's a very "holy" tournament: the one thing the undead cannot stand. Also remember these zones are intended to be much much larger in real life - if he was preparing an army against the camp, it would take days or weeks to arrive.
Xavius' mention of waves is accurate afaik. I seem to recall it being mentioned as being like the Nagrand and Zul'Drak 5 man bosses quests - the Ring of Blood quests. Kirkburn  talk  contr 16:00, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
I think it will be some sort of 'virtual field combat', where bosses and mobs are magically created (Shade of <boss>, Image of <boss>) to represent those of the Scourge that we would eventually fight in the future, to train us on how to face and fight them. And yes, Zarhym said this gonna be like the Of Blood and Anguish fights.Orisai (talk) 18:41, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
Here's that post by Blizz Zarhym if anyone else was wondering. Just Alerting You Small Howbizr(t·c) 9:30 PM, 2 Jun 2009 (EDT)

Copying over from the talk page of 3.2:

So, looks like the Crusaders' Coliseum will be the "secret surprise" Tier 9 Raid, unless Blizzard has something else we don't know yet. Orisai (talk) 19:46, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

I wouldn't place any bets on Tier 9, the Coliseum could provide sidegrades, kinda like the respective Zul raids were not top-iLvl ones when they were released. ~ Nathanyel (talk) 20:38, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Or this could be a nice replacement for a third wing in the Vault of Archavon instance. Orisai (talk) 20:47, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
I Think ( my oppinion ) that there will be another instance (besides the Crusaders' Coliseum) that will be the Tier 9 raid. The Coliseum will have Tier 8 quality or less much like the other rewards from the Argent Tournament Grounds. -- (M o r p h | C | T) IconSmall Gnome MaleIconSmall Draenei Male 21:13, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Keeping in the spirit of the original game and BC, Tier 9 will likely be Icecrown Citadel. I would think that the Coliseum would correspond with a combination of MgT (the 5-man) and ZA (though ZA didn't come in a 25-man version, it's roughly the same idea). --Joshmaul (talk) 01:32, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
I wonder what bosses we'll fight? Maybe a resurrected Black Knight? Or a new Arugal reborn instance? Or corrupted Argent Dawn/Crusade champions? I'm so excited! Or maybe something pre-Icecrown Citadel, i.e. "lesser Scourge" before the big clash at Arthas' palace. --SFSig-2009 07:27, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
I don't think we're gonna fight "evil hostages", to send them to their death in an arena wouldn't really be something the Argent Crusade/Tirion would do/allow. I'm guessing more of an extended "arena quests" setting, with valiants and champions duking it out, "who's the best fighter?" or such. Probably again with faction-specific opponents, as a Horde party/raid, you're gonna face Alliance representants, and the other way around. I can even see a mechanic of not death as victory, but rather defeat/unconsciousness, even for players, which probably disables durability loss, but also Rebirth, Reincarnation and Divine Intervention. ~ Nathanyel (talk) 09:26, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
I think it'll probably be just actually having players duke it out while mounted. No instance. It wouldn't make sense to have it as one anyways. Instances are usually based on out of control conflicts in which we have to stabilize. A controlled area? Not so much. It's possible the Black Knight could be resurrected, but I doubt he's worth a second thought to the Lich King. He was just a member of the Cult of the Damned. All he would serve is just another disposable death knight. It is more likely it'll be some newer reward system based on the amount of wins you get in jousting, since that's been the theme of the entire Tournament. They've had us duke it with NPCs to rise to Champions, now all that's left is the Champions fighting each other for final glory. Might not even be PvP, but still just PvE. As far as the preparations for fighting the Scourge thing, it may just be more dailies based on taking down Scourge forces like bringing down a frost wyrm and some Cultists and facing off against death knights and lesser minions in front of the Citadel. Don't expect an Arthas encounter anytime soon. One major goal of Blizz's is to do this right. They killed Illidan off too fast during BC and had to save themselves with bringing back Kael and introducing Kil'jaeden into the picture. Arthas will be the very last fight. They still have Deathwing to bring in with Grim Batol and finally revealing Uldum's purpose. Unless they mention the next expansion at this year's BlizzCon, I don't see this wrapping up within the next year or two. Who knows? Blizz has been working on the Emerald Dream since the production of the classic WoW. --Mykael Mourningsun
Blizzard actually said when they announced it that it WOULD be an instance. Two, actually - a five-man and a raid. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 18:14, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
But... why? What's the actual conflict? Are the bosses just gonna be named Champions? --Mykael Mourningsun

I assume this is referring to patch 3.2. Just Alerting You Small Howbizr(t·c) 9:23 PM, 2 Jun 2009 (EDT)

Re: We need new 5 man dungeons | 2009-04-23 13:15 | Vaneras
It should probably come as good news then, that new 5-man content is being planned for upcoming patches :-)

There is not much information we can share with you about this yet though, but some of the planned 5-man content can be compared to what we saw with Magister's Terrace. We will of course tell you more as soon as we are ready to announce the content of the future patches.

The reason it can be compared to MGT is obvious!! We're together building a "town" (Argent Grounds) and then doing dailies to build it up. And then we have a raid and some instances to do as we progress. It wouldn't surprise me if Arugal and his wolf clan from Grizzly Hills is behind this. --SFSig-2009 11:04, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Or it can be compared to MGT because it is a lesser instance next door to the endgame raid so people who suck at raiding (And anything more then a 5-man PuG) can take part in the Arthasy fun. I think the raid part is just to hold over the end-gamers. Why is Arugal behind a coliseum?--SWM2448 21:06, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
It's an Argent jail and he's been imprisoned there, similar to Violet Hold. --SFSig-2009 07:34, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
Despite being killed, beheaded, raised as a ghost, and killed again? -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 09:19, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
Who has said that he's been imprisoned there? Sounds like you're just speculating. --User:Gourra/Sig2 09:29, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
This whole page is speculation, of course it's not the truth! ;) --SFSig-2009 13:00, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
...If I cared at all, I would have died a little on the inside. Shandris, you could have labeled your speculation as such, even with an "I think" or an "I guess".--SWM2448 21:39, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
