If Frostmourne can take souls, could it be used somehow to take Ner'zhul out of Arthas's body ending the terror? I don't know how long Arthas would survive afterwards, since recently he took out his heart and other things, but he will have become redeemed at least. If Arthas becomes redeemed, that would radically change the way that WOW plays - but I'm also wondering how, because he's severed all links that we know he has with his humanity, his heart being the last link (that we know of, through lore, anyway). That is true. If the "good guys" or someone could use Frostmourne to take Ner'zhul out of Arthas' body, since Frostmourne can take souls, that would be a setback for the Scourge at least. Rolandius

I know. The part about Arthas becoming redeemed might not be possible, but the whole getting Ner'zhul out of Arthas would cause a disruption to the Lich King's empire. Arthas' body would die or just be a death knight, while Ner'zhul would be stuck in Frostmourne. I am guessing it would have to be someone pretty powerful to use Frostmourne, like a demon or something, and then they would have to stop touching the sword or else they would go crazy with Ner'zhul whispering to them. Another "new Lich King'" may emerge if the character holding the sword doesn't get rid of it after using it. Illidan would be a cool chose, but it looks like he was defeated. Rolandius

Even if it were possible, the only likely way to obtain Frostmourne would be to defeat the Lich King first. And if we managed to do that, we might as well kill him properly and be rid of one of Azeroth's greatest threats. If Ner'zhul were sucked out then Arthas may or may not become redeemed, but few people would be willing to take the risk that he would not. User:Jormungand01/sig 09:11, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Wait. Arthas has no soul now! :O Frostmourne stole it, you know and, anyway, I think he despised his own soul in his "dreams".

I hate Blizzard's lack of lore spirit. No mentions of Ner'zhul. Hell. That's horrible, they should have mentioned him more.

If Ner'Zhul was to be expelled from Arthas' body then the body would just collapse onto the floor; he's just a shell. Ner'Zhul absorbed, almost stole Arthas' soul as he was integrated into the scourge. Tichonderous remarks that Frostmourne could steal souls, and the Arthas was the first it took. But Ner'Zhul took Arthas over. This is quite complicated but I doubt Arthas Menthil is still alive. I think it's just Ner'Zhul, the Lich King now.

It was a fusion. After the fusion, the side of Arthas took control over Ner'zhul's. It's that simple. And no, Arthas isn't an empty shell, we have seen him at W3 walking around with no Ner'zhul at his head. He doesn't need the soul for nothing.--Lon-ami (talk) 11:27, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

The opposition of Frostmourne and Ashbringer clearly appears. And even if it's an incorrect fan art (for the wielder of the ashbringer is the wrong one) The Duel Will Happen.

I agree in the thing with Frostmourne vs. Ashbringer, however, Tirion could only win the fight on Scared ground or something, and Arthas (Nerzhul) isnt stupid enough to that, maybe something with Flamestrike? It could be cool if Darion or Varian used Flamestrike together with Tirion with Ashbringer against Lich King with Frostmourne. Magnive (talk) 15:24, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

I don't see any reason why someone else couldn't pick it up and swing it. Back on the original subject, towards the end of Rise of the Lich King Ner'Zhul shows Arthas flitting glimpses of the future, including Frostmourne and the Ashbringer. The Ashbringer ISN'T Frostmourne's polar opposite, we can clearly see this when it gets corrupted, the Ashbringer is a sword that drains the energy used on itself. Like I said on Tirion's article: "Tirion won't be able to do the "final strike" on Arthas, the Ashbringer might turn Dark, and won't have any effect on him." Someone not gonna waltz in there and grab frostmourne. It could corrupt them upon receiving it like Arthas. And who would have a stronger will than Arthas, I mean he killed a disgruntled demon and then put on a strange helmet in one day. BobNamataki (talk) 13:32, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
